SEC. DIZON, HUMILING NA PAGKATIWALAAN ANG DPWH

Ipinaliwanag ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Vince Dizon sa Bicameral Conference Committee meeting ngayong Linggo, Dec. 14, ang hiling nitong ibalik ang ibinawas na pondo sa panukalang 2026 budget nito dahil sa pagbabago ng Construction Materials Price Data (CMPD).

“Obviously with Congress’ oversight function, anytime po pwede niyo po kaming i-check kung ito po talaga ay ginagawa namin,” saad ni Dizon sa bicam meeting.

"After deep reflections and prayers, I have made a decision. Today with a full heart and a clear conscience, I tender my resignation as Speaker of the House of Representatives," bahagi ng mensahe ni Romualdez.

Si Senior Deputy Speaker at Isabela Rep. Faustibo "Bodgie" Dy III ang nag- iisang nominee nang magbotohan para sa papalit na bagong Speaker of the House of Representatives.

𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐍: Pormal nang nirekomenda ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince B. Dizon sa Kongreso ang pag-alis nang alokasyon para sa locally-funded flood control projects sa isinumiteng revised budget para sa 2026 National Expenditure Program ng ahensya.

Ito ay mangangahulugan na bababa ng 28.99% ang panukalang budget ng DPWH sa ₱624.784 Billion mula sa unang naisumite na ₱881.312 Billion. Sa kabuuan, halagang ₱255.258 Billion ang nabawas sa bagong proposed budget ng ahensya.

Nauna nang uniutos ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang pagtanggal ng pondo sa local flood control projects sa 2026 NEP at ilaan nalang sa ibang proyekto at programa ng pamahalaan gaya ng health, education at agriculture.

Naka schedule ang hearing ngayong araw sa panukalang DPWH budget sa House Committee on Appropriations.

Mariing kinundena ng Gabinete ang umano’y pagtatangkang ipasa ng ilang kongresista sa Executive Branch ang sisi sa mga isyu ng korapsyon.

Giit ng Executive Secretary, hindi nila palalampasin ang anumang atake sa reputasyon ng ehekutibo o pagtatangkang gamitin ang budget process bilang political theatrics.

"All our investigations into the anomalies will be futile if the sources of corruption remain unchecked. Hence, we urge the House of Representatives to heed the demand of the people for full accountability: CLEAN YOUR HOUSE FIRST," ayon sa pahayag ng Executive Secretary.
