My journey with the Philippine Red Cross started when I was still an elementary student, when I first joined as a Red Cross Youth member of our school. At a young age, I was already introduced to the values of humanity, volunteerism, and service, values that eventually shaped who I am today.
As time passed, my passion for serving others grew stronger. What started as simple participation in Red Cross Youth activities became a deeper calling to serve beyond the classroom and into the community. I realized that being part of the Philippine Red Cross is not just about wearing the uniform, it is about embodying compassion, readiness, leadership, and commitment to helping those in need.
Through the years, the Red Cross has given me countless opportunities to grow, not only as a volunteer, but also as a leader, responder, and educator. Serving in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has trained me to act with urgency, remain calm under pressure, and provide immediate care when it matters most. As an instructor and peer educator, I have been able to share knowledge, build confidence among fellow volunteers, and empower others with leadership and communication skills. As a youth leader, I continue to guide and inspire aspiring Red Cross Youth volunteers, helping them find purpose in service just as I did.
From supporting humanitarian activities, participating in trainings, assisting in community programs, and responding to emergencies, every experience has strengthened my dedication to the mission of the Philippine Red Cross.
For me, being a volunteer means choosing service over self, action over indifference, and compassion over convenience. It is a lifelong commitment to humanity. β€
