SustainabilityPH extends its sincere gratitude to the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) for their invaluable support in bringing the Sustainability Summit Iloilo 2026 to fruition.

Iloilo was chosen as the host city for its strong example of sustainability beyond Metro Manila, demonstrating how local government units and the private sector can effectively work together toward shared development goals. The province continues to show strong promise as a model for collaborative and sustainable growth.

We are glad to have begun these meaningful conversations in the City of Love through the Sustainability Summit Iloilo. With the summit now concluded, we look forward to the continued collaboration, dialogue, and action that will shape what lies ahead for sustainability in the Philippines.

Much like a pearl refined through nature and patience, the legacies we celebrate today represent a lifetime of dedication to our environment and our communities.

The Pearls of Legacy Awards honor those who have turned their vision into a foundation of truth and hope for every Filipino. These individuals show us that purposeful leadership is about more than just a single moment. Their stories are ones of persistence and heart, proving that when we work with a shared responsibility, we create something truly lasting.

Join us as we honor the people who embody the spirit of a more sustainable and beautiful Philippines.

The work of building a more resilient future happens in the details of our daily choices and professional standards. We are moving into our afternoon breakout sessions of the Sustainability Summit Iloilo to explore the different facets of environmental, social, and governance practices.

Participants are diving into the Climate Fresk with Country Coordinator Sven Romberg to understand the science of our changing world through interactive learning. Meanwhile, Rhick Albay of Eco-Business is leading a session on Communicating Sustainability, focusing on how we can share our stories with honesty and impact. Martin Martirez of Rezbin is guiding a discussion on the Zero Waste Lifestyle.

These sessions are designed to move us from theory to practice, giving everyone the tools to lead with purpose in their own circles.

Sustainability is about building connections that last and today we are exploring that through the lens of Project Ugat.

Today's panel at Sustainability Summit Iloilo features a wealth of experience in protecting the natural beauty of Panay and beyond. We have Dr. Harold Ortiz Buenvenida, whose work in plant biodiversity and education is shaping the next generation, alongside Dr. Jurgene Primavera, whose decades of research have global importance for our fisheries and mangroves. We are also learning from JCI Philippines National Director for Sustainability 360 Pres. Joey Infante about how programs like Boats to School link education with conservation, and Engr. Noel Hechanova about how clean air and waste management change the way a city breathes.

From mangrove restoration to innovation and urban rehabilitation, our speakers are sharing doable ways to turn environmental care into a viable future-proof strategy for Filipino communities.
