At our recent event in partner school Everest Nuvali, Mano Amiga scholar and incoming Gr 6 student, JC Intia shared his own story of growth through their project-based learning activity which is a book by the students to tackle everyday challenges.

For JC, the struggle was balancing schoolwork. His advice is to begin with the hardest task and then move on to the easier ones.

Romellia, 13, believes that justice should not depend on how much money you have or who you know. ⚖️

“I want to be a public attorney because many cannot afford legal support. No one should pay a huge amount just to protect their rights or prove their innocence. Too many from low‑income communities are wrongfully imprisoned, and I want to ensure they get the legal support they deserve.”

Kicking off our Future Minds program at Mano Amiga Academy with our Grades 3-6 students!

Co-developed with 3M Philippines, and in partnership with Balai Wari, we challenged learners to respond to the typhoon crisis by finding solutions for clean water, heat protection, communication, lighting, and emergency response.

Through a blend of play-based learning and makerspace activities, students stepped into the role of innovators and problem-solvers working toward a socially meaningful mission. They described the experience as “fun, inspiring, and memorable,” while discovering how STEM can help build stronger, more resilient communities.

A heartfelt thank you to 3M for being our constant partner in empowering young learners through enriching STEM learning experiences.

Now on our 18th year in the Philippines, our heart and mission remain the same. It is to provide high quality and holistic education for low-income communities.

Through your commitment and support, we’ve been able to provide more than 2,000 scholarships to children in need.

A big congratulations to the Scholars Club for organizing a fundraiser as their culminating activity for the school year. Beyond excelling academically, our scholars also showcased their creativity through an Editorial Journal titled Voices Unbound. This journal featured artworks, essays, and talks where scholars expressed their perspectives on political issues, mental health, and student-life balance.

Proceeds from the journals went directly to supporting Scholars Club activities in the coming school year, ensuring that our students continue to thrive as leaders and changemakers.

Loud cheers echoed through the school as students discovered that everyday household items such as gravel, cotton, soft drink bottles, and coffee filters can be used as water filters during emergencies!

For the past 5 years, Mano Amiga has partnered with 3M Philippines in holding STEM conferences and hands-on experiences in different parts of the country to make learning more fun and meaningful! 🧬🧫🧪

We’re proud to celebrate Jayren Delos Reyes, one of our scholars, for winning in the international poetry competition for Regnum Christi schools in his age division!
