Iriga City strengthened family planning for indigenous peoples and geographically isolated communities through Purok Kalusugan, a barangay-based initiative that integrates Department of Health services at the purok level. The city also increased male participation in family planning, partnered with schools to expand health education, and built culturally sensitive engagement with underserved populations.

Iriga is now re-engaged under The Challenge Initiative - The Philippines (TCI) 20.30 to continue inclusive family planning access.

Santiago City strengthened family planning through school- and community-based teen centers supported by trained peer facilitators, integrating adolescent health into its KAISAKA (“kaisa ka”) Development Strategies. The city institutionalized its Information Service Delivery Network and launched community-based programs engaging adolescents and parents.

Chung, ZFF Local Health Systems Director, delivered an oral presentation on the study, “Provincial Leadership and Governance Program: A Public-Private Collaboration Model for Local Health Systems Strengthening towards Universal Health Coverage in the Philippines.” The research showcased how strategic collaboration among local government units, the private sector, and national partners has strengthened leadership and governance, contributing to more resilient and responsive local health systems.
