It strengthens the international agreement designed to control the total global production and consumption of substances that damage the ozone layer.

The Philippines is more than 7,600 islands surrounded by vast bodies of water. Our seas connect communities, sustain livelihoods, support diverse ecosystems, and form an important part of our identity as an archipelagic nation. Protecting these waters means protecting the people, communities, and ecosystems that depend on them. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

This ๐‘บ๐’†๐’‘๐’•๐’†๐’Ž๐’ƒ๐’†๐’“ 2026, we join the observance of ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’“๐’Š๐’•๐’Š๐’Ž๐’† ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐‘จ๐’“๐’„๐’‰๐’Š๐’‘๐’†๐’๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’Š๐’„ ๐‘ต๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐‘จ๐’˜๐’‚๐’“๐’†๐’๐’†๐’”๐’” ๐‘ด๐’๐’๐’•๐’‰ (๐‘ด๐‘จ๐‘ต๐‘จ ๐‘ด๐’), a month dedicated to recognizing the Philippinesโ€™ maritime and archipelagic character and raising awareness of the importance of our marine resources. ๐Ÿš

Recognize. Respect. Restore

Rangelands are one of the foundations of life. It supports the food we eat, the water we drink, the biodiversity we depend on, and the communities that thrive because of it. Protecting our land means protecting our future.

Today, June 17, 2026, we join the global observance of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, a day dedicated to raising awareness about land degradation and the importance of restoring ecosystems. With this year's theme, โ€œRangelands: Recognize. Respect. Restore.โ€, highlights the important role of rangelands in sustaining food security, supporting biodiversity, regulating water cycles, and strengthening climate resilience for billions of people around the world.

Through this remembrance, let us move beyond awareness and take action. By recognizing the importance of our land, respecting its limits, and restoring what has been degraded, we can help build a more sustainable future for generations to come.

The ocean connects us all. It provides the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the balance that keeps our planet thriving. Its health is closely tied to our own, making its protection a ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ we all share.

Today, ๐‰๐ฎ๐ง๐ž 8, 2026, we join the global celebration of ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐Ž๐œ๐ž๐š๐ง๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ, a day dedicated to recognizing the value of our oceans and raising awareness about the responsibility we all share in protecting them. Covering more than 70% ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ž๐ญ, the ocean provides oxygen, supports biodiversity, regulates the climate, and serves as a vital source of food and livelihood for millions of people around the world.

As we learn more about the wonders beneath the waves, we are reminded that every actionโ€”can make a difference.
