To Our Beloved Students, Parents, Fellow Educators, and Paranaque Community

Dear Friends,

As we gaze upon this powerful symbol of sacrifice and redemption, we at the Paranaque City Educators Lions Club join you in honoring the profound meaning of Good Friday.

🌤️ A simple encounter this morning that touched my heart…

Habang naglalakad ako kaninang umaga, may nakasabay akong matandang lalaki na nag-aakay ng kanyang bike. Natanggal daw ang kadena kaya hindi niya maisakay. Paglapit niya, bumati siya ng “Good morning!” na may napakalaking ngiti—kaya bumati rin ako pabalik.

Habang naglalakad kami, nagkuwento siya: “Karpintero ako. Umuwi ako kasi mapurol na ang lagari ko at wala akong pambayad sa panghasa. Mga ₱75 din kasi ’yon… wala akong pera.”

Hindi na ako nagdalawang-isip. Dumukot ako ng kaunting pera at iniabot sa kanya. Naglakad ako ulit at nauna na.

Ilang saglit lang, may tumawag sa akin:
“Eneng! Anong complete name mo?”
Paglingon ko, si Tatay pala. Sabi niya:
“Pwede bang malaman ang pangalan mo para maisama kita sa dasal ko? Nakita ka ng Panginoon, Eneng… Siya na ang magbabalik sa’yo. Pasensya ka na.”

Nagtaka ako. “Bakit po kayo nagsosorry, Tay?”
Sagot niya: “Ikaw kasi ang nalapitan ko…”

Sabi ko naman, “Tay, wala po kayong kasalanan. Nag-abot lang po ako dahil meron ako. At kung sakaling niloko man ako ng iba, hindi ko na po problema ’yon… bahala na si Lord.”

Napangiti siya at sabi:
“Sige, Eneng. Ingat ka ha… at pagpalain ka ng Panginoon.”

Hindi ko ito ibinabahagi para purihin, kundi para makapag-inspire. Minsan, ang maliit na tulong na hindi mo halos pinapansin ay malaking biyaya na sa iba. At minsan, ang simpleng “Salamat” at dasal mula sa isang estranghero, sapat na para mapagaan ang buong araw mo.

Be kind whenever you can. The world always needs more of it. ❤️
