Cagayan Valley remains the Philippines’ top corn-producing region, consistently contributing the largest share of the country’s corn supply. In 2023, the region produced about 1.9 million metric tons of corn, accounting for around 25 percent of national production, with Isabela, particularly the City of Ilagan, serving as a major contributor. Its vast farmlands, fertile soil, favorable climate, and continued government support have helped sustain its leadership in corn production, making the region a key driver of the country’s agricultural sector.
