This is a dump of random photos and videos that were taken at our 250th Independence Day Celebration. They are a mix of photos from the setup, through the meal, to the awards and music, raffles, and end of the night fireworks. Since we opted out of getting a professional photographer this year, we thank all those who sent us photos and vids. If you have any you would like to share, send them to us, we'll put them up! Posting for posterity....

There came a point in the evening when longtime Chapter member Doc Rick (who doesn't get out of the house as much as he'd like) and his loving wife, Jovy, got up to dance. Everyone gave them the floor for a private dance while one of the members of the audience sang the song.

The enthusiastic ladies of the VFW Post 2485 Auxiliary came out early and helped SFA Chapter 46 set up all the decorations (and take them down at the end). It looks like they had great time too! Please follow and support them whenever and wherever they have their own projects going on! Thanks again ladies!

SILENT AUCTION ALERT!

This lithograph was hanging in our team room. We will be running a silent auction at the Independence Day Celebration on the 4th of July.

Offered here is a limited-edition commemorative lithograph by noted military artist Tom Nielsen honoring the joint U.S. Army and U.S. Navy Mobile Riverine Force that served in Vietnam's Mekong Delta. Richly illustrated with the boats, helicopters, soldiers, unit insignia, medals, and map of the Mekong Delta, the artwork commemorates the service of the U.S. Army's 9th Infantry Division and U.S. Navy Task Force 117 during riverine operations from 1967 to 1970. Tom Nielsen's military artwork is well known among Vietnam veterans and military collectors for its historical accuracy and attention to unit heritage.

SILENT AUCTION ALERT! These three lithographs were hanging in our team room. We will be running a silent auction at the Independence Day Celebration on the 4th of July. Offered are three original, hand-signed and numbered limited-edition military lithographs by artist Wil Seda, created in 1986, 1988, and 1993. The collection depicts three classic U.S. Army subjects: a C-130 Hercules conducting a mass airborne parachute operation (Edition 144/500, 1986), an Airborne paratrooper in jump gear standing before a C-130 (Edition 416/1000, 1988), and a U.S. Army infantry soldier equipped in woodland camouflage with an M16A2 rifle (Edition 454/500, 1993). Each lithograph is individually signed by the artist in pencil and reflects detailed attention to the uniforms and equipment of the era. Although little biographical information about Wil Seda has been published beyond his service as a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, his signed military-themed lithographs from the 1980s and early 1990s are recognized by collectors for their accurate depictions of U.S. Army personnel and equipment. These were most likely sold by the artist himself from a vendor booth at a military PX.
