Pres. Vince Marco D. Combate, President of the 4-H Club in Eastern Visayas Regional Federation, guested on Bombo Radyo Tacloban to discuss the organizationโs mission and initiatives in promoting youth engagement in agriculture, leadership development, and community service.
During the interview, Pres. Vince highlighted the need to encourage more young people to engage in agriculture to help address the aging farmer population and ensure food security and sustainability. He also shared the federationโs roadmap, which includes leadership mentoring, capacity-building programs, and efforts to nurture the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Among the federationโs priority initiatives are the establishment of partnerships with the Department of Education through an โAdopt-a-Schoolโ project, the organization of 4-H Clubs in agricultural schools, and assistance to youth interested in accessing programs such as the Young Farmers Challenge. He likewise encouraged participation in leadership trainings, forums, and congresses, like the recently concluded 4-H Regional Info Caravan cm Congress held in Maasin City, Southern Leyte last May 29-31, while acknowledging the support of partners and sponsors, including STIHL Philippines.
