Batch Magayon emerges victorious in JPIA Days 2025
Yellow filled the stage as the victors were called on, hailing Batch Magayon as the Overall Champion of this yearโs Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants Days with the theme โEternal Trinity: Three Forces, One Destiny,โ awarded during the Accountancy Night at the SPSPS Quadrangle on September 19. This triumph follows their previous victories in the institutionโs 30th and 31st Founding Anniversary celebrations, continuing the seniorsโ back-to-back wins.
Along with Batch Magayon, batches Madayaw and Sidlaya also battled in the week-long series of events, all showcasing their competitive spirit. Ultimately, Sidlaya claimed the first runner-up title, followed by Madayaw in the second runner-up podium.
From The Ultimate JPIAn Battle, sports events, accounting league cups, to JPIAns on Stage, the fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) and Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System (BSAIS) students proved their excellence all throughout, bagging multiple awards and wins in both academic and non-academic categories, and emerging as overall champions in the latter.
As their last participation in the JPIA Days came to an end, Geoana Catalo, Batch President of Batch Magayon, highlighted the essence of victory not being solely about winning. โIt wasnโt about victory at all, it was about uniting our batch,โ Catalo expressed. โFourth-year na kami, and this is the time na magconnect kami na tanan. And that in itself, para ha amon, amo talaga an victory.โ
Catalo also stressed that through positive reinforcement and messages of encouragement, they were able to sustain the batchโs spirit despite being busy graduating students. She explained that the batch consists of years 3.5, four, and 4.5, resulting in a divide within the team. But along with her co-officers, their goal was to unite all the year levels and erase the walls between them by ensuring their batchmates enjoyed this yearโs events.
โI want to leave a legacy that is not centered on victory, on winning the JPIA Days,โ the batch president expressed, emphasizing her personal vision. โWe want to leave a legacy that victory is not winning first placeโitโs all about coming together, building collective effort, para magkaurusa karami nga tanan,โ she added. This year being their last, she shared that they strive to give it their all and continue the legacy they have built as a batch over their four years as Paulinians, proving their unfading drive for excellence.
Beyond the victories and setbacks, this yearโs JPIA Days celebrates not only competition but as well the spirit of coming together as JPIAns. Through unity, dedication, and commitment, this event prepares aspiring Certified Public Accountants to take on the field with prowess and competence.
