The young Palimbangeños NEVER FORGET the bloody history that happened in Tacbil Mosque in September 24, 1974. Thousands of our brothers and sisters were killed brutally and denied for human rights. We've learned from this unfortunate experienced and as young individuals, we'll see to it that we will never be silent, we'll never forget and never again! We'll always fight for JUSTICE, RIGHT and PEACE.

In the 48th commemoration of the 1974 Malisbong Massacre, unitedly we pray that may the souls of all victims rest peacefully in the hands of Allah.

[A] NEVER AGAIN! NEVER FORGET!✊🏽

September 21 marks a significant date in Philippine history, particularly during the presidency of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. On September 21, 1972, Marcos Sr. declared martial law through Proclamation No. 1081, citing threats from communist and Islamic insurgencies as justification for his actions. This proclamation allowed him to assume extensive powers, effectively sidelining the constitution, judiciary, and press.

Key Events During Martial Law:

✍🏼Declaration of Martial Law
-Marcos signed Proclamation No. 1081, placing the entire country under martial law, which led to widespread arrests, censorship, and human rights abuses.

🌐Arrests and Detentions
-Thousands of opposition figures, journalists, student and labor activists were detained without trial, including notable figures like Senator Benigno Aquino.

🚷Press Censorship
-Newspapers were shut down, and mass media were brought under tight control, restricting freedom of expression.

🚫Economic Control
-Marcos implemented economic policies that benefited his allies and family members, leading to widespread corruption and economic decline.

International Youth Day is celebrated annually on August 12 to recognize and empower young people worldwide. This year's theme, "Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond," highlights the crucial role youth play in achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. The day aims to draw attention to youth issues, promote their participation in decision-making, and celebrate their contributions to society. With over 1.2 billion young people globally, International Youth Day serves as a platform to address challenges they face, such as limited access to education, healthcare, and job opportunities, while showcasing successful youth-led initiatives and projects. By empowering young people, we can foster positive change, promote sustainable development, and build a better future for all.
