This Pride Month, we are celebrating the beautiful spectrum of human identity and the courage it takes to live freely and authentically in a world that often demands conformity. Pride is not just about the flags we wave or the colors that we wear to express how one can live with authenticity; it is also about how individuals have their right to exist, express, love, fulfill their dreams, and enjoy life free from judgment and discrimination. Together with our LGBTQIA+ Community, let's move beyond passive support and practice active allyship where we educate ourselves and challenge our biases while holding the door open for more inclusivity and equality.

𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵: 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘢 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘩𝘢𝘯

She is the visionary creator of 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 (𝗗𝗕𝗧) and revolutionized how we treat intense emotions, self-harm, and borderline personality disorder—conditions that were once often misunderstood or considered difficult to treat within clinical communities. By combining evidence-based behavioral strategies with validation and mindfulness, she showed everyone that healing begins when we learn how to sit through and handle life's toughest moments.

At its core, her work is all about teaching us that pain is inevitable, but suffering can be overcome.

She also helped break mental-health stigma by openly sharing her own history of severe mental health struggles, showing clinicians and patients alike that recovery is possible. This vulnerability completely humanized the field of psychology and gave a real, comforting voice to those who felt invisible.

Today, her compassionate approach and evidence-based methods continue to serve as a global gold standard for mental health care and lasting recovery.

No Tuition Fee Increase for S.Y. 2026–2027

Good news, Michaeleans!

To ease the financial burden on students and families amid global challenges, SMCL remains committed to accessible and inclusive education.

For more than 5 years in Basic Education and 10 years in Tertiary Education, we have not increased our basic tuition fees. This S.Y. 2026–2027, it stays the same — because accessible, quality education is part of our legacy.
