On 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟐, 𝟏𝟖𝟗𝟖, in the historic town of 𝐊𝐚𝐰𝐢𝐭, 𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞, 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐨 proclaimed the 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 of the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 after more than three centuries of Spanish colonial rule. It was on this day that the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗴 was unfurled for the first time, symbolizing the Filipino people's 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to govern their own nation.

Today, 𝟏𝟐𝟖 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 who fought for our freedom but also the 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 who continues to build a better future for our country.
