Look: SUCCESSFUL GRATITUDE DAY !!

This is it! The much-anticipated Gratitude Day has been realized, last March 1, 2024, where individuals who dedicated their time and effort to ensure the success of the event are acknowledged. Some faced challenges, yet their willingness to participate prevailed.

Many were delighted with the activities, experiencing the spirit of gratitude by expressing heartfelt thanks. Special appreciation for your wholehearted support that contributed to the success of Gratitude Day, especially to each person who brought food and offerings.

We extend our gratitude to the dedicated guidance counselor, Dr. Moibe Ferrer Olitres, for leading the program at the JHCSC Guidance and Counselling Office. Special thanks to the active and diligent guidance associates, Sir Rj Gomez, and Ms. Armie Golilat.

A heartfelt thank you for the continuous opportunities provided by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the Project Hugs Association, led by Provincial Director Ma'am Miraflor Casanes and her courteous staff.

Finally, a heartfelt gratitude to those who seized this opportunity and were given a chance to extend their efforts and time in providing services in their assigned areas.

Special thanks to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), led by our Provincial Director, Ma'am Miraflor Casanes, and her dedicated staff for continuously offering us opportunities.

A big shoutout to the leadership of Dr. Moibe Ferrer Olitres our Guidance Counselor and Peso Officer, and Project Leader of the First Association at JHCSC for Project HUGS (Hope and Understanding and Gender-Sensitive Entrepreneurs). "Exploring Entrepreneurial Frontiers: Mr. Reden Acosta, ACE Academy Regional Coordinator, Sheds Light on Project HUGS Association's Project Carts"

On October 12, 2023, Mr. Reden Acosta, the esteemed Regional Coordinator of ACE Academy for Creating Enterprise, took the stage to delve into the intricacies of the innovative project carts associated with Project HUGS. Under the leadership of Project Leader Dr. Moibe F. Olitres, this collaborative effort is set to reshape livelihoods and entrepreneurial opportunities within the community.

During the discussion, Mr. Acosta shared profound insights into the design, functionality, and overarching purpose of the project carts. These carts stand as a tangible representation of the commitment to sustainable livelihoods and the cultivation of an entrepreneurial spirit. The conversation highlighted the significance of these carts in providing avenues for economic empowerment and fostering resilience among diverse groups.

The collaborative efforts between ACE Academy and Project HUGS, spearheaded by Dr. Moibe F. HUGS for ALL!!

The J.H Cerilles State College, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, is championing an inspiring initiative known as Project HUGS (Hope and Understanding for Gender-Sensitive) Entrepreneurs Association, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment, Zamboanga Del Sur (DOLE ZDS), led by Provincial Director Flor Casanes.

On October 10, 2023, a dedicated team, including Job Placement Officer and Project Leader Dr. Moibe Ferrer Olitres and DOLE employees Sir Clayford P. Lumod and Ma'am Nelly Grace T. Romarate, a Livelihood Development Specialist, paid a visit to the project site, the JHCSC Campus Student Center. The focal point of their attention is a food cart business that aims not only to generate a sustainable livelihood but also to instill an entrepreneurial mindset among the project members, addressing financial needs and fostering resilience, especially among the project's beneficiaries toward well-balanced mental health and quality of life.

The noble endeavor seeks to empower a diverse range of individuals, including self-supporting students, out-of-school youth, single parents, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals who have triumphed over challenges such as former rebels, persons with disabilities (PWD), those facing mental health challenges (PWMHC), and senior citizens or older adults. By leveraging their unique skills and interests and promoting perseverance, the initiative is designed to uplift the quality of life for these participants.

This collaborative effort represents a powerful commitment to inclusivity and social impact. By providing opportunities and a platform for marginalized groups to showcase their talents, the project becomes a beacon of hope. It encourages individuals from diverse backgrounds to unlock their potential and make meaningful contributions to society. Through the fusion of skills, determination, and community support, Project HUGS aspires to create lasting positive change in the lives of those it touches.

LOOK: Entrepreneurship training among members of the PROJECT HUGS Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Association

On August 25, 2023, the Project HUGS (Hope and Understanding for Gender-Sensitive) Entrepreneurs Association of J.H. Cerilles State College, headed by Dr. Moibe F. Olitres, in collaboration with the Academy for Creating Enterprise (ACE), held a training program titled "Start Now."

The Academy for Creating Enterprise is a foundation with a mission to ignite the entrepreneurial mindset in faith-driven people through training and support to create more abundant lives.

"Do you have what it takes to become a millionaire? asked by the keynote speaker, Mr. Reden Acosta, a Regional Coordinator at the Academy for Creating Enterprise. "All of us are destined to be successful, and that means taking significant actions outside of our comfort zone. We should not be afraid to fail; living outside our comfort zone requires change," he added.

To continue the activity, he discussed the START NOW program that helps students begin their journey on the path of self-reliance. The purpose of this program is to implement practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge. Each workshop and activity invites participants to act rather than simply learn. As students progress, they are challenged to change their mindsets and modify their behaviors by focusing on action-oriented goals.

Ms. Wilma Bayaron, Pagadian Ace Chapter President, also recognized the participants as new members of the academy. Upon completion of the START NOW training, an individual is designated as a member and granted lifelong access to additional education and training, as well as the continued friendship of their chapter support group.

Different delegates of business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs from Zamboanga del Sur attended the training, including Persons With Disabilities (PWD) headed by Ms. Miriam A. Llanos, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial PDAO Head, who are also members of Project HUGS.

This partnership with ACE is part of JHCSC’s four-focal endeavors in instruction, research, community service, production, and Guidance and Counseling Office-Job Placement Services to strengthen the inter-agency collaboration by providing employment and entrepreneurial advancement.
