While SHELL makes huge profits, people pay the price.🔥

From the Philippines to Nigeria and the UK, communities are demanding justice from Shell.

🇵🇭 100+ Super Typhoon Odette survivors are suing Shell in the UK in a first-of-its-kind climate case. In 2021, Odette affected 8 million people in the Philippines, killing and injuring over 1,500 and displacing 1.4 million.

🇳🇬 13,000+ people from the Niger Delta are seeking justice in London courts after years of oil spill and environmental devastation linked to Shell's operations.

Shell knew about the climate harms at least the 1960s, yet continued expanding their fossil fuel business. Now, communities around the world are paying the price.

JUSTICE FOR THE PHILIPPINES.

JUSTICE FOR NIGERIA.

MAKE SHELL PAY. ✊

Most billionaire wealth is taken, not made — through inheritance, cronyism, and CORRUPTION or monopoly power. 💸

While the super-rich enjoy the fruits of our labor, the majority of Filipino families are struggling to stay afloat and living with extreme weather events.

Taxing extreme wealth fairly means easing living pressures on the people. It means securing a safe, green, and liveable future for everyone.

PANALO PARA SA KLIMA!🙌 In a vote of 141 in favor, 8 against, and 28 abstentions, the United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted a landmark climate resolution advancing the International Court of Justice Advisory Opinion (ICJAO) on climate change and state responsibility.

The resolution, led by Vanuatu 🇻🇺 and 12 other countries including the Philippines🇵🇭 , calls on governments to align policies to limit global warming to 1.5°C, support a just transition away from fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas), strengthen climate accountability, and protect the right to a healthy environment.

The era of fossil fuel companies making billions while communities face climate disasters and rising costs must end. The world’s biggest corporations and ultra-rich polluters must pay for the damage they have caused to current and future generations.

🌳 Protect our trees. Protect our communities. Make climate polluters pay.

Why do we love trees? Let us count the ways.

Trees are living biodiversity, and they help other life thrive. They cool our streets, clean our air, absorb rain, store carbon, and give birds and other urban wildlife a place to survive.

Meanwhile, elevated expressways make room for cars by taking space from life.

This International Day for Biological Diversity, let’s remind government agencies and billionaire corporations: cities like Manila need decisions that permit life to thrive, not projects that permit more heat, flooding, pollution, and injustice.
