The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), โ Padre Burgos Chapter successfully celebrated its 1st Anniversary on August 23, 2025, with a full-day program centered on seminars and discussions on youth rights, welfare, and empowerment, held at the Gov. Dra. Helen Tan Municipal Covered Court, Padre Burgos, Quezon, in line with the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan.
The highlight of the event was a series of seminar sessions delivered by esteemed resource persons:
โข Philippine National Police (PNP) โ Padre Burgos, PMSg Judy Saniel presented the Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign for the Younger Generation, emphasizing the role of youth in prevention and community vigilance.
โข Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), FO1 Ranloyd P. Bacunawa discussed Quick Response and Risk Assessment During Calamities and Emergencies, strengthening disaster preparedness and resilience.
โข Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 4Ps Program, Project Development Officer II, Mr. Arnel T. Buefano conducted a lecture on Youth Empowerment and Community Engagement, inspiring active youth participation in governance and development.
โข Rural Health Unit (RHU), Mr. Mark Anthony Par led a discussion on STI, HIV, and AIDS Awareness and Prevention, accompanied by on-site voluntary HIV counseling and screening for participants.
These seminars provided crucial knowledge and practical guidance, ensuring that youth participants were equipped with awareness, skills, and values essential to becoming responsible leaders and advocates for their peers and communities.
Approximately 100 young people from various barangays, including 4Ps monitored children, enrolled students, and out-of-school youth, actively participated in the activity. Following the seminar sessions, participants engaged in leadership training and team-building activities that fostered collaboration, unity, and commitment to positive change.
The program was spearheaded by Ms. Dashiel Laudes, MSWD Officer, with the support of the Local Government Unit of Padre Burgos, Hon. Mayor Ruben Uy Diokno, and 4Ps Parent Leaders. Also in attendance were Hon. Councilor Rowena Espina, Hon. Councilor Clark Aranilla, youth representative Ms. Tricia Jane Trevalles of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), and Mr. Cycrius James Sevilla, PYAP Padre Burgos President and SK Leader of Brgy. San Isidro.
This significant event marks not only the first year of PYAP Padre Burgos as a formally established youth organization but also reaffirms its mission to protect the rights of young people, promote their health and welfare, and strengthen their role as active partners in community development.
