The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) โ€“ Padre Burgos Chapter actively participated in the Virtual Kamustahan with PYAP Youth Focal Persons in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) held on March 06, 2026 via Google Meet.

The activity served as a platform for updates, coordination, and discussion of important matters concerning the organization. Among the key highlights of the meeting was the discussion led by Raffy Esparagoza Ormita, who provided updates regarding the National Constitution and By-Laws of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines.

The meeting also included the presentation and discussion of the newly approved official logo of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines, bearing the identity โ€œAng Kabataang Organisado.โ€

Furthermore, preparations and initial discussions were conducted regarding the upcoming 52nd PYAP Regional Anniversary, which will be hosted by Lucena City, Quezon Province, as the designated host province for the regional celebration.

The meeting was attended by Cyrius James Sevilla, President of PYAP Padre Burgos, together with various PYAP Youth Focal Persons from different municipalities across Region IV-A.

The participation of the PYAP Padre Burgos Chapter in this activity demonstrates its commitment to strengthening youth leadership, organizational development, and regional collaboration within the PYAP network.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) โ€“ Padre Burgos Chapter formally recognizes PYAP Padre Burgos Secretary, Carl Anthony I. Catapang, for representing the entire Province of Quezon and serving as the sole delegate from the Bondoc Peninsula during the NCCA Art Fridate, held as part of the Orange Tourism Festival organized by the Quezon Provincial Tourism Office in celebration of National Arts Month 2026, she was also recognize as National Artist.

The activity was conducted on 27 February 2026 at the Center for International Trade and Expositions and Missions (CITEM), Golden Shell Pavilion, located along Roxas Boulevard, corner Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue, Pasay City.

The Quezon Provincial Tourism Office initiated the Annual Orange Tourism Festival to promote and showcase the talents and cultural excellence of Quezonians in the fields of music, visual arts, theater, culinary arts, architecture, and other related disciplines.

Ms. Catapangโ€™s submitted artwork, entitled โ€œBarrio Silangan,โ€ depicts the rich and vibrant history of the Municipalty of Quezon, Quezon, referencing the former name of the municipality. Her participation significantly contributed to the promotion of local heritage and cultural identity at the provincial and national levels.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) โ€“ Padre Burgos Chapter formally took part in the PYAP Quezon Provincial 4th Quarterly Meeting held on December 03, 2025, at the Old Provincial Capitol.

The meeting was presided over by the PYAP Quezon Provincial Federation Officers with the active participation of delegates from the municipalities of Panukulan, Padre Burgos, Alabat, Infanta, Mauban, Candelaria, Gumaca, Guinayangan, Dolores, and Sariaya. Each Local Government Unit (LGU) was tasked to present its respective accomplishment report for the current quarter, highlighting the progress and challenges encountered in the implementation of PYAP programs across the province.

During the presentation of accomplishments, representatives from participating LGUs provided detailed updates on their youth development activities, including leadership trainings, capability-building initiatives, livelihood efforts, advocacy campaigns, and community engagement programs. These reports served as essential references in assessing local program performance and aligning ongoing efforts with provincial and national PYAP objectives.

A significant agenda item was the preparation for the upcoming 52nd PYAP Anniversary Celebration, of which the PYAP Quezon Provincial Federation has been designated as the official host. Discussions focused on the proposed activities, event flow, committee assignments, logistical requirements, and inter-municipal coordination to ensure a meaningful and well-organized celebration that will reflect the unity and dynamism of Quezonโ€™s youth sector.

Moreover, the body also addressed the profiling and updating of member data from each municipality. The Provincial Federation emphasized the importance of accurate and up-to-date membership records as a basis for program planning, resource allocation, and eligibility for provincial and national youth interventions. LGUs were instructed to begin their validation processes and submit consolidated data within the agreed timeline.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of PYAP Quezon to continuously strengthen youth participation, enhance intermunicipal collaboration, and uphold its mandate of empowering young people toward productive, responsible, and community-oriented citizenship.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) โ€“ Padre Burgos Chapter actively participated in the 2025 Quezon Provincial Youth Summit and PYAP 51st Founding Anniversary Celebration held on October 3, 2025, at the St. Jude Cooperative Hotel and Event Center in Barangay Isabang, Tayabas City. The Padre Burgos delegation was composed of Vice President Jorge Dones, Secretary Carl Anthony I. Catapang, Focal Person Jana Feliz Mendoza, and several active members of the chapter.

Representing the municipality with pride, Mr. Carl Anthony I. Catapang took part in the Essay Writing Competition, where he successfully landed in the Top 5 finalists, showcasing the chapterโ€™s excellence and commitment to youth empowerment.

The event, organized under the leadership of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), marked the 51st Founding Anniversary of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PYAP) with the theme, โ€œThriving, not just Surviving: Holistic Support for the Socio-Emotional Well-being, Igniting Hope and Shaping the Future of the New Era of PYAP-AKO.โ€ The meaningful gathering brought together approximately 300 PYAP officers from 20 towns and cities across the Province of Quezon.

One of the program highlights was the inspirational talk delivered by Mr. Christian M. Ayag, a registered nurse and staff member of the Provincial Health Office, who emphasized the importance of proper knowledge and awareness regarding Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), as well as the value of early testing and timely treatment.

As part of the celebration, various competitions were held to showcase the talents and creativity of the youth from the four districts of the province, including the PYAP Official Song Competition, Modern Folk Dance, Essay Writing, and Advocacy Short Film Competition. The participation of PYAP Padre Burgos in this provincial event underscores the chapterโ€™s continued dedication to fostering leadership, creativity, and holistic development among the youth of Padre Burgos.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) โ€“ Padre Burgos Chapter actively participated in the PYAP Quezon Provincial 3rd Quarterly Meeting held on September 19, 2025, at the Provincial Governorโ€™s Office Conference Room.

The chapter was represented by President Cyrius James Nuevas, Secretary Carl Anthony I. Catapang, and Focal Person Jana Feliz Mendoza. The meeting was presided over by Provincial President Cyrius James Sevilla, with representatives from the municipalities of Agdangan, Mulanay, Gumaca, Lopez, Buenavista, Sariaya, Quezon, Alabat, Tiaong, Dolores, Mauban, and Macalelon in attendance.

The program began with a prayer, the singing of the National Anthem, and the roll call of participants. The agenda included the discussion of the STEP-UP Livelihood Program of the Provincial Government of Quezon, with Mr. Lawrence Joseph L. Velasco, Agri-Entrepreneur and Owner of Rancho Velasco Agri Farm, serving as the resource speaker. The newly appointed PYAP Quezon Secretary, who also serves as the President of the Quezon, Quezon Chapter, presented the reading and approval of the previous minutes of the meeting. Other agenda items included the finalization of PYAPโ€™s anniversary celebration, the election of vacant positions, and the presentation of accomplishment reports of different LGUs relative to PYAP program implementation.

During the meeting, Secretary Carl Anthony I. Catapang presented the achievements of the Padre Burgos Chapter for the past quarter. These included the conduct of Youth Leadership and Empowerment Seminars in schools, the celebration of the โ€œNingas: PYAP Padre Burgos 1st Anniversary,โ€ the organization of the OSAEC-CSAEM Seminar, the facilitation of the Gender Equality and SOGIE Bill Seminar, as well as other youth-related programs and activities initiated by the chapter.

Significant progress was also noted in the chapterโ€™s membership and coverage. PYAP Padre Burgos increased its membership from 24 to 181 active members and expanded its reach from 7 barangays to 9 barangays out of the 22 barangays of Padre Burgos. This growth highlights the continued commitment of the chapter to youth development and empowerment in the community.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) โ€“ Padre Burgos, in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), successfully conducted the second leg of its Youth Leadership and Empowerment Seminar on August 27, 2025, at Holy Cross Academy, Padre Burgos, Quezon. This activity forms part of the continuing efforts under the Youth Empowerment Through Special Services Program, in support of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the broader Child and Youth Welfare Services initiatives.

The seminar was attended by student leaders from Grades 7 to 10 and was designed to equip them with vital knowledge on mental health, safety, youth rights, and leadership. Distinguished speakers and youth advocates graced the event as resource persons. Ms. Nicole Lustaรฑas, Social Work Affiliate of Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena (DLL) provided insights on Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation in Media (CSAEM). Ms. Dashiell Laudes, MSWDO Officer, discussed Republic Act No. 10627 (Anti-Bullying Act of 2013), fostering awareness of students' rights and responsibilities. PMSG Judith Saniel of the PNP Padre Burgos highlighted the significance of the Anti-Drug and Anti-Terrorism Campaign, while Carl Anthony I. Catapang, President of the 4H Club Padre Burgos, delivered an inspiring lecture on youth leadership, effective communication, and nation-building, underscoring the pivotal role of the youth in shaping a progressive and responsible society.

The activity at Holy Cross Academy stands as a testament to the strong commitment of PYAP Padre Burgos to empower young individuals through education, awareness, and civic engagement. The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), Inc. โ€“ Padre Burgos Chapter successfully conducted its 1st Anniversary Celebration on August 23, 2025, at the Gov. Dra. Helen Tan Municipal Covered Court, Padre Burgos, Quezon.

In the afternoon, the association organized a series of team-building activities aimed at fostering camaraderie, leadership, and cooperation among the youth members. The program featured the Yell Presentation and Flag-Making Competition, which allowed participants to showcase creativity, unity, and shared aspirations. Exciting traditional and recreational games such as the Calamansi Relay and Patintero highlighted the importance of coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The celebration culminated with the Tug of War, which tested the strength, endurance, and solidarity of the teams, drawing much enthusiasm and support from participants and spectators alike.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), โ€“ Padre Burgos Chapter successfully celebrated its 1st Anniversary on August 23, 2025, with a full-day program centered on seminars and discussions on youth rights, welfare, and empowerment, held at the Gov. Dra. Helen Tan Municipal Covered Court, Padre Burgos, Quezon, in line with the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan.

The highlight of the event was a series of seminar sessions delivered by esteemed resource persons:

โ€ข Philippine National Police (PNP) โ€“ Padre Burgos, PMSg Judy Saniel presented the Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign for the Younger Generation, emphasizing the role of youth in prevention and community vigilance.
โ€ข Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), FO1 Ranloyd P. Bacunawa discussed Quick Response and Risk Assessment During Calamities and Emergencies, strengthening disaster preparedness and resilience.
โ€ข Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 4Ps Program, Project Development Officer II, Mr. Arnel T. Buefano conducted a lecture on Youth Empowerment and Community Engagement, inspiring active youth participation in governance and development.
โ€ข Rural Health Unit (RHU), Mr. Mark Anthony Par led a discussion on STI, HIV, and AIDS Awareness and Prevention, accompanied by on-site voluntary HIV counseling and screening for participants.

These seminars provided crucial knowledge and practical guidance, ensuring that youth participants were equipped with awareness, skills, and values essential to becoming responsible leaders and advocates for their peers and communities.

Approximately 100 young people from various barangays, including 4Ps monitored children, enrolled students, and out-of-school youth, actively participated in the activity. Following the seminar sessions, participants engaged in leadership training and team-building activities that fostered collaboration, unity, and commitment to positive change.

The program was spearheaded by Ms. Dashiel Laudes, MSWD Officer, with the support of the Local Government Unit of Padre Burgos, Hon. Mayor Ruben Uy Diokno, and 4Ps Parent Leaders. Also in attendance were Hon. Councilor Rowena Espina, Hon. Councilor Clark Aranilla, youth representative Ms. Tricia Jane Trevalles of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), and Mr. Cycrius James Sevilla, PYAP Padre Burgos President and SK Leader of Brgy. The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) โ€“ Padre Burgos officially participated in the 51st Anniversary Celebration of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines โ€“ CALABARZON, hosted by PYAP Antipolo City on August 09, 2025 at the Ynares Event Center, Antipolo City, Rizal.

PYAP Padre Burgos joined fellow delegations from PYAP Guinayangan, Gumaca, Macalelon, Agdangan, Mauban, and Dolores in representing the Province of Quezon at the regional celebration. The event featured various youth-centered competitions and performances, including:

โ€ข Hataw Kabataan โ€“ represented by the Tatak Doloresin Dance Company of PYAP Dolores
โ€ข Spoken Word Poetry โ€“ performed by Rafael Dignum of PYAP Guinayangan
โ€ข Banner Making Competition โ€“ represented by Carl Anthony I. Catapang of PYAP Padre Burgos
โ€ข Poster Making Competition โ€“ represented by Markiel T. Villanueva of PYAP Agdangan

The celebration was also attended by delegations from PYAP Cavite, PYAP Batangas, and PYAP Laguna, fostering inter-provincial youth engagement and collaboration.

The official delegation from PYAP Padre Burgos and other Quezon chapters was formally escorted by PSWDO Quezon Head, Mr. Jaybee Aureada, signifying the full support of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for youth development initiatives across the province.

This participation underscores PYAP Padre Burgosโ€™ continuing commitment to advancing youth empowerment, promoting cultural expression, and strengthening regional cooperation among the youth of CALABARZON.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) โ€“ Padre Burgos held a coordination and planning meeting at the Municipal Social Hall, Padre Burgos, Quezon in preparation for the 1st Anniversary Celebration of PYAP Padre Burgos. Present during the meeting were PYAP Padre Burgos President Cyrius James Sevilla, Secretary Carl Anthony I. Catapang, Vice President Jorge Dones, and Social Work Affiliates from Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena (DLL), Ms. Nicole Lustanas and Ms. Lorea Talavera. August 05, 2024

The meeting focused on the finalization of activities for the month of August 2025, particularly the PYAP Padre Burgos 1st Anniversary Celebration, which is set to take place on August 23, 2025. The event will feature a series of seminars on Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation in Media (CSAEM), and HIV Awareness, reaffirming the organizationโ€™s advocacy for youth protection, education, and social responsibility.

This collaboration between PYAP Padre Burgos and DLL Social Work Affiliates underscores a shared commitment to youth empowerment, leadership development, and the promotion of social awareness in the municipality of Padre Burgos.
