Collaborating for the Future: Expanding Educational Horizons!

We are thrilled to share a major milestone in our ongoing mission to support and empower students! Yesterday, July 9, 2026, the Manila Ecclesiastical Province Parochial Schools Association (MaPSA) officially presented our new Scholarship Proposal to two incredible champions of education: the SM Foundation and DIWA Learning Systems.
This strategic collaboration aims to open new doors of opportunity, ensuring that quality, values-based education remains accessible to deserving youth.

The MaPSA delegation was proudly led by:

Fr. Elpidio Biliran, Jr. (Chair, MaPSA Commission on Promotions and Public Affairs)
Ms. Josefina Villavicencio (Co-Chair, MaPSA CPPA)
Mr. Christopher Panaglima (Executive Director, MaPSA)

We extend our deepest gratitude to Ms. Carmela Atayde of the SM Foundation and Ms. Elma Ropeta of DIWA Learning Systems for their warm reception, visionary insights, and shared commitment to uplifting Filipino students.
Together, we are building brighter futures, one scholarship at a time!

As member institutions of the Manila Ecclesiastical Province School Systems Association (MaPSA) and CEAP NCR, we share a sacred responsibility to uphold the distinctive identity and mission of Catholic education.

In light of the implementation of the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum, we reaffirm with clarity and conviction that Religion remains the core of the Catholic school curriculum. Our educational programs are not merely designed for academic advancement but for integral human and Christian formation.

The Christian Living (CL) subject plays an indispensable role in guiding our Senior High School learners during a critical stage of personal growth and vocational discernment. To remove or diminish this subject would weaken the very foundation that distinguishes Catholic education from other educational systems.

Thus, we strongly encourage all MaPSA & CEAP NCR member schools to retain Christian Living as a core subject in the Strengthened SHS Curriculum, preserving its rightful place in the formation of our students.

The retention of CL:
⚫Ensures continuity of faith formation;
⚫Sustains the integration of Gospel values across disciplines;
⚫Strengthens Catholic identity and mission;
⚫Affirms our commitment to forming Christ-centered leaders for society.

May we stand united in our resolve to protect and strengthen the religious dimension of our schools, remaining faithful to our mission as partners in the Church’s evangelizing work.

Herewith is the Sample Senior High School Christian Living Education (CLE) Curriculum Guide for your reference.

The Manila Ecclesiastical Province School Systems Association (MaPSA) expresses its heartfelt prayers and solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Mindanao who have been affected by the recent earthquake. We especially remember the families who have suffered loss, displacement, and uncertainty during this difficult time.

As one Catholic educational community, we are called to respond with compassion and generosity to those in need. In this spirit, MaPSA encourages all member schools to organize a **School Donation Drive** to gather financial assistance, relief goods, and other essential items that may help support the affected communities.

We invite our school leaders, faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni to unite in this effort and become instruments of hope and healing for our fellow Filipinos in Mindanao.

For those who wish to extend assistance through MaPSA, donations in kind may be delivered to the **MaPSA Office, 1521 Paz Street, Paco, Manila**. Monetary donations may likewise be deposited to the following account:

**Bank:** BPI
**Payee:** MANILA ARCHDIOCESAN AND PAROCHIAL SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION INC.
**Account No.:** 0051-0542-53

Let us continue to keep all those affected in our prayers and extend our support through concrete acts of Christian charity and solidarity.

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."(Galatians 6:2)
