Gitib Incorporated successfully conducted the “𝐂𝐘𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐒𝐀𝐄𝐂 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡” on 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at 𝐋𝐚 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧, 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧, bringing together members of the Children and Youth Against Trafficking (CYAT) to strengthen their knowledge and capacity as young advocates for child protection.

The activity focused on increasing participants’ understanding of Trafficking in Persons (TIP), Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM), while highlighting the important role of youth in prevention and awareness-raising efforts.

We extend our sincere appreciation to 𝑫𝒓. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒑𝒊𝒛𝒐, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 of the 𝑲𝑲𝑺 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒐 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒖𝒎, for her informative discussion on TIP, OSAEC and CSAEM, which provided participants with valuable insights into the risks faced by children in both online and offline spaces.

The seminar focused on strengthening child protection and promoting positive parenting practices within the community. Key discussions highlighted understanding the principles of positive parenting, applying positive discipline strategies, and recognizing the link between positive parenting, child protection, and child trafficking prevention.

Participants also engaged in interactive role-playing activities that demonstrated how approaches to disciplining children have evolved—from harmful disciplinary practices in the past to more nurturing and positive parenting methods today. In addition, case study discussions and workshops were conducted, where participants identified existing child protection structures within their communities and clarified the roles of various stakeholders in strengthening collaboration for child protection initiatives.

Through meaningful discussions and participatory activities, participants were empowered to help create safer, more supportive, and nurturing environments for children at home, in schools, and within the community. 🤝💙

A successful Clean-Up Drive was conducted, bringing together community members to promote environmental awareness and collective action, highlighting the importance of maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all. Prior to the clean-up activity, a short discussion was held to emphasize the link between environmental degradation and children’s vulnerability to trafficking and exploitation. The session helped participants understand how issues such as disasters, deforestation, and climate change can lead to loss of livelihood and increase the risk of child trafficking. Through this initiative, environmental action was effectively integrated with awareness on child protection and the prevention of exploitation.

📅 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
Through a child- and youth-led approach, members of the Children and Youth Against Trafficking (CYAT) and the Canicapan Children and Youth Organization were empowered to facilitate discussions on climate change, proper waste segregation, daily environmental practices, and child rights and protection. To further expand community awareness, participants conducted a house-to-house Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign across Barangay Canicapan, distributing flyers that promote environmental responsibility and child protection. The activity also included a clean-up drive, reinforcing the practical application of environmental stewardship and collective responsibility.

Together, young advocates proved that protecting the planet also means protecting children—building cleaner, safer, and more resilient communities for all. ✨

The activity gathered CYAT members who also represent five children and youth organizations from the organization’s partner barangays. It aimed to strengthen their roles as young leaders and peer protectors against child trafficking. Through guided sessions, participants developed their Vision, Mission, and Goals (VMG), elected a new set of officers, and planned key activities for the year.

During the workshop, participants identified and designed youth-led initiatives aligned with key advocacy dates, including Earth Day (April 22), Environmental Day, World Day Against Trafficking (July 30), International Day of the Girl Child (October 11), and Children’s Month (November). All proposed activities were led and conceptualized by the youth.

By the end of the activity, CYAT finalized its VMG. The newly elected officers gained a clear understanding of their responsibilities, while members strengthened their awareness of their roles within the organization. Initial activity plans with defined outputs were also developed, laying a strong foundation for sustained youth-led initiatives.

A commitment-setting session allowed participants to express their personal pledges as youth advocates, reinforcing their role in promoting and protecting children’s rights in their communities.

Gitib Incorporated successfully held its 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒉 forum as part of its series of activities for children and youth. The initial session were conducted for youth on 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏7, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚, 𝐓𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐚, Misamis Occidental. 📍👥

The forums provided age-appropriate information on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), ensuring that participants received guidance suited to their level of understanding and development.💡

The sessions helped participants understand themselves, build healthy relationships, respect diversity, make safe and responsible decisions, and recognize risky situations.

The forums also emphasized prevention of gender-based violence and exploitation, teaching young people how to protect themselves and others, seek help when needed, and support their peers. 🤗

Through these interactive sessions, participants were empowered to grow confidently and safely within a supportive community. 🌟
