Faith, Food, and Fellowship: Eid’l Adha Unites Muslim Community in Ozamiz City
In the early hours of June 16, 2024, the skies over Ozamiz City glowed softly with the rising sun as Muslim faithful gathered in unity to celebrate Eid’l Adha — the Festival of Sacrifice. The solemn prayer was led by Shk. Mohd Taib Pangca, whose sermon reminded the crowd of the profound story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the timeless lesson of submission, sacrifice, and faith in Allah.
After the Eid congregational prayers, greetings and smiles were exchanged, then began the tradition of sharing food, followed by a short program.
A heartwarming highlight was the active participation of the youth and non Muslim allies. From organizing the prayer area to distributing food and volunteering in cleanup efforts, they helped the muslim community and stepped up with enthusiasm and responsibility.
This year's Eid as in the past celebrations, was made even more meaningful through the collaboration of the Local Government Unit (LGU), OZAMIZ CITY CENTRAL SCHOOL, DEPED OZAMIZ, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) thru the Ozamiz City Police Station and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company. Their presence and support ensured the safety, order, and success of the event, proving that inter-agency cooperation can uplift spiritual and cultural occasions.
Your kindness and presence reminded us that while we may have different beliefs, we are one community bound by respect, empathy, and love for one another.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sheikh Mohd Taib Pangca for leading the Eid’l Adha prayers and standing with our community once again — not just as a religious guide, but as a true example of humility, compassion, and service.
Your presence, wisdom, and dedication continue to uplift and inspire us.
From your powerful khutbah to your constant willingness to show up for the people — especially in times of celebration and reflection — we are deeply thankful.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Philippine National Police (PNP) officers who graciously joined us during our Eid’l Adha celebration — not only to help ensure the safety and order of the event, but also to share food, kindness, and solidarity with the community.
Your presence was not just official — it was heartfelt. The simple act of giving and sharing food with our brothers and sisters during this sacred day touched many lives and reminded us that public service can also mean compassion and connection.
Thank you for standing with us — not just in uniform, but in unity.
To all the SALAAM POLICE ADVOCACY GROUP members and officers, with their families, we are truly grateful for your commitment to serving the people with compassion, respect, and unity. Your partnership reflects the best of what it means to work hand in hand for what is beneficial to the community.
May this day be reminder of faith in action, of a community coming together in prayer, in giving, and in hope.
Eid Mubarak to all. May the spirit of sacrifice and unity guide us every day. Ameen
