Today, we celebrate Philippine Independence Day, remembering June 12, 1898, when our nation declared freedom from colonial rule. It was the courage, unity, and sacrifice of our heroes that paved the way for the birth of a sovereign nation, free to govern itself and shape its destiny.
But beyond our national freedom lies a deeper kind of freedom (spiritual independence), freedom from sin, guilt, and condemnation. This was won not by revolution, but by the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. Through His death and resurrection, we are no longer slaves to sin but are made righteous, whole, and free in Him.
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free" (Galatians 5:1).
As we remember our nation’s history of liberation, may we also rejoice in the eternal freedom we have in Christ. True independence is not just about political liberty, it is about living in the grace and truth of the One who set us free forever.
MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS! MABUHAY ANG KALAYAANG NATAMO KAY KRISTO!
