In Sinugbuanong Bisaya, baybay means the shore—the place where land meets water. But beyond geography, the baybay is a meeting place: where people arrive, where journeys begin, where goods and ideas are exchanged, and where encounters become possible.
It is where conversations begin. Opportunities arrive. Cultures meet. And what we know meets what we have yet to imagine.
This is where design comes in.
Design happens wherever we imagine better ways of inhabiting, communicating, remembering, performing, and expressing ourselves. From this understanding of baybay as a space of encounter comes Designing Baybay of Imagination—a conversation on how design can shape the places, stories, identities, and possibilities of our communities.
