The struggles of the indigenous people for survival, continuing marginalization, exploitation, and loss of culture and tradition in Northern Mindanao and the Philippines in general, are the driving force behind the establishment and existence of GITIB, Inc. Yet, parallel to these struggles is the rapidly deteriorating ecological balance caused by neglect, increasing unsustainable practices, abuse and pressure from outside users pose great threat to the life and existence of indigenous and local communities that we seek to serve.

Food Security is Children’s Environmental Rights.

Gitib Incorporated participated in “Kapihan at Kamustahan: A Forum on Food Security – Sustaining Beginnings: Targeted Interventions for the Nutritionally At-Risk Mother and Infant,” held on August 17, 2026, at the Commission on Human Rights Central Office.

For Gitib, food security is inseparable from the protection of children’s environmental rights. The food children eat, the water they drink, the air they breathe, and the ecosystems that sustain food production are all connected. Environmental degradation, climate change, pollution, and the loss of productive ecosystems can directly threaten children’s nutrition, health, and development.

This is why strengthening the Protection of Environmental Rights of Children Act (PERCA) matters. PERCA provides an opportunity to recognize and address the environmental conditions that shape children’s right to food, health, survival, development, and a safe, clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.

From the very beginning of life, every child deserves more than just survival—they deserve an environment where they can grow, be nourished, and thrive.

Protecting children means protecting the systems that sustain them. Protecting the environment means protecting their future.

If you have a background in monitoring and evaluation, research, data collection and analysis, and a keen eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you.

Qualifications include:
✅ Bachelor’s degree relevant to the position
✅ Experience in M&E, research, or related fields
✅ Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
✅ Excellent written and verbal communication
✅ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
✅ High attention to detail and accuracy
