💃🕺 The music was loud, the vibes were high, and our SHS dancers did NOT come to play!

As part of the Grade 11 curriculum, students brought their A-game in this high-energy showdown with the theme: “𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱”.

𝗦𝗛𝗦 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯: 🌸
The Alchemists embraced the true spirit of camaraderie, unity and collaboration through the successful conduct of 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗵𝗶 and 𝗦𝗛𝗦 𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 as part of the celebration of Senior High School Week, on April 3, 2025. With the theme “𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱”, each strand worked together to showcase strength, talent, and teamwork.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟭𝟭 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 learners were awarded first place in Laro ng Lahi, while 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟭𝟭 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦
learners achieved first place in SHS Got Talent.

Congratulations to everyone who participated! From the teamwork displayed in Laro ng Lahi to the talents showcased in SHS Got Talent, the bonds formed during this celebration will truly last for eternity.

𝐀 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The crowd’s cheers echoed at the back of his mind, and words of congratulations filled his ears with gratitude. He turned his tassel from one side to the other and received his diploma with the brightest smile he could ever show.

When young Darwin A. Haro graduated college with a proud Bachelor of Secondary Education—Major in English at West Visayas State University. It was the epilogue of his formal education. However, this wasn’t the end of his journey—it hardly was. As he concluded his journey in university, something else started—something new, something fresh, something worthwhile.

A legacy. A fulfillment of commitment. A start of a new age. He was done reading the book, now he decided to write his own. Sir Darwin A. Haro left every path he walked with finer and better quality. With the vision to only uplift and inspire the people and things around him, he transformed every little thing into an achievement, every setback into an opportunity, and every tear into a bright smile.

With this, little did he know that he would come back to the walls of this enthralling institution, recognized as one of the Outstanding Alumni in the Field of Education and Governance. Carrying the core values of the WVSU Federated Alumni Association Inc.—Benevolence, Excellence, Service, and Trustworthiness—he stayed true to these principles and shared them with the people around him.

Now, as Principal IV of Oton National High School, he bestowed the values of Quality, Excellence, Character, and Competence and started a new legacy with his big family. He became the seed of its transformation.

Through valuable projects and huge infrastructures, he crafted spaces for creativity and authentic expression that allowed his constituents to express their individuality and have their own identity. Moreover, he also tied bonds and created relationships that would last longer than anything made in the limited world. These connections created bridges that tied opportunities to those in need. But most importantly, Sir Darwin built a legacy of quality, excellence, character, and competence, the very principles he bestowed upon Oton NHS.

This award isn’t just a plaque or a title. It is the manifestation of all the work Sir Darwin has done. Now, as students of Oton NHS graduate from its humble yet competent walls, may they have the vision of younger Darwin A. Haro, seeing the opportunity as the doors open to the new world.
