🔍 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
✅ Blood is FREE

Blood is voluntarily donated by generous donors.

It is NOT being sold.

The fee charged is for the processing and safety of blood, which includes:
• Blood typing and crossmatching
• Screening for infections (HIV, Hepatitis, etc.)
• Storage and preservation
• Handling and distribution

✅ Standardized and Regulated

The DOH has set maximum fees to ensure fairness and prevent overpricing.

❓ MYTH vs FACT

✅ FACT: Dili pwede. Kinahanglan pa kini i-test ug i-process aron malikayan ang sakit.

📌 CALL TO ACTION:
🩸 Donate blood regularly
📣 Help spread the truth: “Blood is free. Processing is what we pay for.”

🌊 Why Coastal Cleanup Matters on World Water Day

Coastal cleanups are not just about picking up trash—they’re about protecting the entire water system, from oceans to rivers to the water we drink.

The chapter successfully organized a coastal clean-up activity in accordance with the Philippine Red Cross National Headquarters memo in celebration of World Water Day 2026.

The activity brought together dedicated MONHS Boy Scouts, chapter Red Cross Youth led by C*C President Rizza Baguio; USTP RCY, AHBCS RCY, RC143 Chapter-Based Volunteers, and the BOD represented by Sir Nicolas A. Seril who worked hand in hand to remove waste along the coastline of Punta Blanca, Mobod and Eltriunfo, Lower Loboc, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental, promoting environmental protection and raising awareness about the importance of clean and safe water resources. Through this collaborative effort, participants demonstrated unity, responsibility, and commitment to preserving marine ecosystems for future generations.

Water is life—but for many women and girls, it is also a daily struggle.

Without safe water, sanitation, and hygiene close to home, women and girls bear a heavier burden than men and boys. They walk long distances to collect water, manage household needs, and care for loved ones who fall ill due to unsafe water. In the process, they lose time, health, safety, and opportunities—while their voices are often left out of decision-making.

This is why the water crisis is not just a global issue—it is a women’s crisis.

As part of the humanitarian mission of the Philippine Red Cross, we continue to promote safe water, proper sanitation, and good hygiene practices in our communities.

In line with this, activities such as poster and slogan-making contests were conducted to raise awareness and inspire action among the youth. Through creativity and expression, participants highlighted the importance of water, gender equality, and hygiene

Handwashing activities were also carried out to reinforce proper hygiene practices—reminding everyone that clean hands save lives and prevent the spread of diseases.

This World Water Day, we stand in solidarity with women and girls everywhere. We recognize their strength, their role, and their right to be heard.

We believe that solutions must go beyond access—they must include empowerment. Women and girls should not only be water users, but also leaders, decision-makers, engineers, and changemakers.

Under the theme “Where water flows, equality grows,” we are reminded that when women are empowered, communities thrive and the future becomes more resilient.

Together, let us take action to ensure safe water, proper hygiene, and equality for all.

Empowering the youth through life-saving knowledge and skills!

An Emergency First Aid Training was successfully conducted for NSTP students of Misamis University - Oroquieta City, equipping them with essential skills in responding to common emergencies. From proper assessment, basic life support, bandaging, and handling critical situations, the students actively participated and demonstrated their readiness to act when it matters most.

This initiative highlights the importance of preparedness and the vital role of young individuals as first responders in their communities. Through this training, NSTP students are not only gaining knowledge but also embracing the spirit of volunteerism and humanitarian service.

Together, we build a safer, more resilient community—one trained individual at a time.
