๐‘ด๐’‚๐’“๐’„๐’‰ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ—, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” || The WLC Emergency Response Team (WLC-ERT), under the leadership of our ERT Adviser Frances Lopez, RN and Paul Nestor Sarabia, ERT Director, conducted the afternoon session of the NSTP Basic First Aid Training as Resource Speaker.

The session was attended by ๐—–๐—ข๐—ก๐—”๐—›๐—ฆ ๐—•๐—ฆ๐—ก ๐Ÿญ ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐Ÿฎ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ข๐—”๐—• ๐—š๐Ÿฐ, where participants were introduced to fundamental first aid procedures and proper emergency response. The students showed enthusiasm and active involvement during the training.

๐‘ด๐’‚๐’“๐’„๐’‰ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” | Students, faculty, and staff of Western Leyte College took part in the 2026 First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) spearheaded on campus by the Western Leyte College Emergency Response Team (WLC-ERT). Participants practiced the standard โ€œduck, cover, and holdโ€ procedure before proceeding to designated evacuation areas.

The drill forms part of the nationwide initiative led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) in coordination with local government units, including the Ormoc City Government. Members of the CRCY, SPRCY and the WLC Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) also assisted in facilitating the activity and guiding participants during the exercise.

The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill aims to strengthen disaster preparedness in line with Republic Act No. 10121, supporting efforts to build safer and more resilient communities.

๐‘ด๐’‚๐’“๐’„๐’‰ ๐Ÿ’, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” || The WLC Emergency Response Team (WLC-ERT), under the guidance of our ERT Adviser Frances Lopez, RN and Paul Nestor Sarabia, ERT Director, in collaboration with the Red Cross Youth, actively supported the activities during Day 2 of the WLC Foundation Day Celebration.

The morning began with the vibrant Festival of the ๐™‹๐™๐™ž๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฅ๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™š ๐˜พ๐™ช๐™ก๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™ง๐™–๐™ก ๐˜ฟ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š, where different departments showcased Filipino culture and traditions through their performances.

In the afternoon, students highlighted their talents in the ๐™ˆ๐™ช๐™จ๐™ž๐™˜๐™–๐™ก ๐˜พ๐™ค๐™ข๐™ฅ๐™š๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™จ, including Vocal Solo, Duet, Hip Hop, and Lip Sync, bringing energy, fun and excitement to the celebration.

WLC-ERT remained on standby to help ensure the safety and smooth flow of the event while celebrating the talents and unity of the WLC community. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿš‘
