In celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, the Philippine Red Cross โ€“ Ormoc City Chapter, through the Red Cross Youth, invites all eligible RCY members to participate in the ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ-๐๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐‘๐ข๐ฌ๐ค ๐‘๐ž๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ .

This one-day training will equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to identify hazards, understand disaster risks, develop school-based preparedness initiatives, and promote climate resilience in their schools and communities.

In celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, the Philippine Red Cross took to the coastlines yesterday, July 11, 2026, to conduct a meaningful Mangrove Tree Planting activity. Staged at the Mangrove Eco Park in Barangay Naungan, Ormoc City, Leyte, this green initiative focuses on strengthening our natural defenses against storm surges, high tides, and coastal erosion.

34 green advocates worked together through the shoreline mud to successfully root 50 mangrove trees. This collaborative environmental push brought together energetic Red Cross Youth (RCY) leaders, active RC143 community volunteers and chapter staff members, all standing united for a safer, greener, and more resilient Leyte.

On June 20, 2026, the Red Cross Youth - Ormoc City Chapter conducted a Child-Friendly Space for the children of Brgy. Naungan staying at the evacuation center following the recent fire, providing a safe and welcoming environment where they could learn, play, and simply enjoy being children.

Through storytelling, coloring, games, handwashing education, and interactive activities led by our volunteers, the children experienced moments of joy, comfort, and hope. Making the day even more memorable, special guests, the Huntrix Girls and Jinu from KPop Demon Hunters, brought to life by the Heroes Inc. cosplayers, joined the fun and shared smiles with the children.

Because every child deserves a safe space to smile, grow, and dream again. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค

June 16, 2026 โ€“ Youth organizations, volunteers, and partner organizations came together to plan and organize the Tabang Ormocanon initiative for families affected by the fire incident in Brgy. Naungan, Ormoc City.

June 17โ€“19, 2026 โ€“ Through the generosity of our donors and the dedication of volunteers, relief donations were collected, sorted, and repacked. Every relief pack reflected the spirit of bayanihan and the kindness of a community willing to help.

June 20, 2026 โ€“ Relief goods were distributed to the affected families, bringing not only essential supplies but also comfort, hope, and the reminder that they are not alone in rebuilding their lives.
