𝐀 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭. 𝐀 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞.

Kidlikasan is launching "𝗗𝗢-𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻," a donation drive aimed at providing immediate assistance to the residents of 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗸 𝗝𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗦𝗮𝗽𝘂 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗹𝗮, 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶, who were severely affected by the 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 7.8 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 on June 8, 2026. Beyond being members of the community, many of these families are mangrove heroes and environmental stewards.

Now, many are facing damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods, and limited access to basic necessities. We call on everyone to join us in supporting those most in need.

This Laudato Si’ Week 2026, silence and indifference are luxuries the world can no longer afford.

We are living in a time where the cries of both humanity and creation grow louder each day. Communities are drowning in floods, families are suffering from hunger and poverty, temperatures continue to rise, and the environment is being sacrificed in the name of profit and unchecked development. While a few continue to benefit from systems built on exploitation, countless ordinary people are left to suffer the consequences of environmental destruction, economic injustice, and social inequality.

Today, Hirang ng Hiraya took part in the opening of Laudato Si’ Week 2026 in the three chapels of Our Mother of Perpetual Help during the Holy Mass. Our participation in this celebration is not merely symbolic—it is a response to the urgent realities of our time. In the midst of economic crisis, societal conflict, and environmental collapse, Laudato Si’ calls us to remember that caring for creation is inseparable from defending human dignity and protecting the poor, the vulnerable, and future generations.

This celebration is a reminder that faith without action is empty. To care for our common home means confronting the systems that normalize greed, waste, injustice, and destruction. It means choosing responsibility over convenience, compassion over apathy, and collective action over passive hope.

May Laudato Si’ Week 2026 awaken in us not only awareness, but courage—the courage to act, to speak, and to protect the only home we all share.

Last April 25, 2026, a small but meaningful step forward was taken for a greener future at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish. Hirang ng Hiraya, together with the Ecology Ministry, installed five solar lights, an initiative rooted not only in sustainability, but in faith and responsibility.

In a time when communities remain heavily dependent on non renewable and dirty energy sources, transitioning to renewable alternatives is no longer optional, it is urgent. Fossil fuels continue to drive climate change, contributing to extreme weather events, rising temperatures, and energy insecurity. Globally, energy production accounts for nearly three quarters of greenhouse gas emissions. Shifting to solar power, even in small scale efforts like this, helps reduce carbon footprints, lower electricity costs, and build resilience in times of crisis when access to stable energy becomes uncertain.

This initiative is part of a broader vision to become a Green Parish, where sustainability is not just a project, but a way of life. From last year’s efforts in promoting the Anti Single Use Plastic Policy to today’s move toward renewable energy through solar lighting, and ultimately solar panels, each step reflects a growing commitment to care for our common home.

As Catholics, this mission is deeply spiritual. We are called to be stewards of God’s creation, entrusted to protect and nurture the Earth for future generations. Caring for the environment is not separate from our faith, it is an expression of it. In living simply, reducing waste, and embracing sustainable solutions, we honor both creation and the Creator.

Hirang ng Hiraya continues to advocate for a community that chooses sustainability, not convenience, responsibility, not neglect, and hope, not indifference. Because a greener parish is not just a vision, it is a shared calling.

On Holy Wednesday, we remember the moment when Judas Iscariot chose to betray Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver—a solemn reminder of how easily trust can be traded for personal gain, and how silence and compromise can lead to brokenness.

In the same way, this day invites us to reflect on our relationship with the environment. In the same way, this day calls us to reflect on our responsibility toward the environment. Just as we are asked to be faithful stewards of our spiritual lives, we are also entrusted to care for creation with honesty and consistency. Beyond words and appearances, our actions toward the Earth must reflect genuine commitment—protecting, conserving, and nurturing the world we have been given, as an expression of a faithful and living stewardship. 🌿

Just as the temple was meant to be a place of reverence, our Earth is our shared home that deserves care and respect. A barren fig tree reminds us of a world depleted by neglect, while a fruitful one reflects stewardship and responsibility. This Holy Monday, may we move beyond appearances and practice a faith that actively nurtures, protects, and restores creation. ✝️

On Palm Sunday, we remember the moment when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a humble donkey. The people welcomed Him with joy, waving palm branches and laying them on the road, shouting “Hosanna!”—a sign of honor, hope, and faith.
