The Rotary Club of Freeport Zone Subic Bay proudly attended the Rotary Learning Institute (RLI) Levels 1 & 2 โ€” a meaningful experience that deepened our knowledge of Rotary leadership, fellowship, and service. ๐Ÿ’š

Together with fellow attendees Learning Facilitator Liana Vitug, PE Alpha Joy Empeno, and Unite For Good President Marjorie Sagisi-Dizon, the journey became even more inspiring and memorable.

๐’๐ฎ๐›๐ข๐œ ๐๐š๐ฒ ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐™๐จ๐ง๐ž, ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ โ€” In a unified effort to promote environmental sustainability and coastal protection, the Rotary Club of Freeport Zone (Subic Bay), was spearheaded by President Marjorie, through the Rotary Club of Freeport Zone (Subic Bay) in collaboration with President Glen Rentoria PP Jeng Ignacio and the Rotary Club of Cainta and the Rotaract Club of Freeport Zone and in partnership with SBMA Ecology Department, successfully conducted a Mangrove Clean-Up Drive at Subic Bay Freeport Zone on April 21, 2026.

The initiative gathered Rotarians and volunteers committed to preserving marine ecosystems and strengthening community awareness on environmental responsibility. Mangroves play a vital role in protecting shorelines, supporting biodiversity, and mitigating climate change impacts.

Special Thanks also to Ms. Rosselle Abuyo (Officer-in-Charge) and Ms. Joanna Marie Reyes (Senior Forest Management Specialist) and to the very supportive SBMA Chairman and Administrator Engr. Eduardo Jose Aliรฑo in making our projects possible and more future projects.

To support the activity, participating clubs extended in-kind donations essential for both immediate clean-up efforts and long-term sustainability initiatives:

50 packed meals for volunteers

150 cloth gloves

1,000 pieces of 4x6-inch black plastic bags for seedling propagation
8 hand trowels
1 weighing scale
6 plastic crates
12 shovels
150 cloth gloves

Through this collaborative effort, the Rotary Clubs reinforced their commitment to environmental stewardship and community service under the guiding principle of โ€œService Above Self.โ€

โ€œThis initiative highlights the power of partnership in creating meaningful and sustainable impact for our environment,โ€ the organizers shared.

The Mangrove Clean-Up Drive is part of Rotaryโ€™s continuing efforts to address environmental challenges while engaging communities in purposeful action.

District Conference 2026 | A Journey of Leadership, Culture, Learning, and Blessings๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

District Conference always reminds me why I chose to be part of Rotary.๐Ÿ’š

It begins with leadershipโ€”being surrounded by fellow Rotarians who continue to lead with purpose under the guidance of our District 3790 Governor Danilo Torres, with our ever-supportive Cluster 4C Assistant Governor Jhen Atuan whose leadership continues to guide and encourage us.

Moments like this strengthen our commitment to serve and to grow as leaders in our communities.

Then comes the celebration of culture - Seeing Rotarians proudly wearing Asian-inspired attire wโ€”it was a beautiful reminder that Rotary brings together people of different traditions but united by one mission: Service Above Self๐Ÿ’š

The conference also gave us the gift of learning. The message of Bo Sanchez deeply resonated with meโ€”reminding us that leadership is not about recognition, but about the heart to serve faithfully.

Listening as well to insights from Charis Go, Dominic Ligot, and PDG Edna Sutter opened our minds to how Rotary continues to evolve while staying true to its core values.

And just when I thought the evening could not get any more memorable, I was blessed to win a raffle prize generously sponsored by Pres. Rei Tan of RC Balibago & CEO of Beautederm๐Ÿ’–

A joyful ending to a day filled with inspiration!

From leading, to celebrating culture, to learning, and finally to receiving a blessingโ€”this District Conference truly reflected the spirit of Rotary.
