The Local Government of Olongapo, through the Olongapo City Public Library, successfully celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Month 2026 this morning, October 20, 2026, at Iram Elementary School, with the invaluable support and collaboration of UBSP Olongapo.
As part of the celebration, we conducted a storytelling activity with Indigenous Peoples (IP) representatives. Guided by this yearโs theme, โEmpowering Indigenous Peoples: Strengthening Rights, Culture and Ancestral Domains,โ the activity highlighted the importance of protecting the rights, culture, and ancestral domains of Indigenous Peoples while fostering understanding, respect, and inclusivity in our community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to UBSP Olongapo, headed by Sir Randino A. Ledesma, and Iram Elementary School, headed by Maโam Rosenia S. Mago, as well as to everyone who contributed to the success of this meaningful celebration.
