We are looking back with immense gratitude and pride as we honor the completion of our latest batch of GIP interns. 📚

Starting March 16, 2026, these dedicated individuals became an integral part of the Olongapo City Public Library family. Beyond completing their daily tasks, they brought a fresh energy, bright curiosity, and a genuine willingness to learn that truly uplifted our day-to-day operations.

The 𝗢𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 expresses its deepest appreciation to our City Councilor Vic-Vic Magsaysay for favorably responding to our request for additional kid - friendly library furniture.

Through his generosity, the library has officially received a donation of 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝘽𝙖𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙧 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨. These were requested specifically to upgrade our Storytelling Area, creating a more conducive, comfortable, and engaging learning environment for the young learners of Olongapo.

The City Government of Olongapo thru Olongapo City Public Library proudly participated in the National Training-Workshop entitled : "Libraries as Stewards of Cultural Heritage: A Capacity Building and Community Engagement."

Held from May 25 to 26, 2026, this premier event was organized by the Association of Librarians in the Public Sector (ALPS), in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA-NCLIS), Baguio City Public Library, and the National Library of the Philippines.

We are incredibly proud of our very own Ms. Sheila Marie Fulton (OIC - City Library), who represented the Olongapo City Public Library on this national stage!

As an officer of ALPS, She served as a member of the event's working committee. She also took the spotlight as an invited storyteller, delivering a special storytelling presentation on the afternoon of May 25, 2026. 🎭📖

Through this program, we gained advanced knowledge in public librarianship, cultural heritage promotion, and community engagement, which we are excited to apply in service to our fellow Olongapeños.

Our hard-working Barangay Secretariats are currently diving into an intensive session focused on online safety, data privacy, and responsible digital citizenship.

In today’s digital world, public service delivery relies heavily on the internet. Through this joint initiative, our local secretariats are equipping themselves with practical tools to fight online threats, secure sensitive data, and navigate the web safely while serving our communities.
