Among the 5,004 entries submitted by colleges and universities worldwide in the Culture/Values category, the EDUKalEDAD program of Norzagaray College ranked 66th in the prestigious World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026. The EDUKalEDAD program aims to promote well-being, social engagement, and continuous personal growth among older adults in the community.

WURI is an international ranking system that evaluates higher education institutions based on their real-world contributions, innovative research, and societal impact, rather than traditional academic metrics. It highlights how universities and colleges foster innovation and active engagement with society.

The inclusion in the international rankings places the institution among recognized higher education institutions worldwide that continue to make meaningful contributions to education and community engagement.

College officials, headed by Dr. Ma. Liberty DG. Pascual expressed gratitude to faculty members, students, alumni, and stakeholders whose dedication and hard work contributed to the achievement. According to the administration, the recognition serves not only as a symbol of excellence but also as an inspiration to strengthen further academic programs, research initiatives, and international partnerships.

“We owe gratitude to the support of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region III and our local government led by Hon. Mayor Maria Elena Germar. Norzagaray College may seem like just a small local community college, but with this milestone, we have proven that, through our passion, dedication, and collective effort, even a small community college can make an impact. This will continue to motivate us to provide accessible, relevant, and globally competitive education,” said Dr. Pascual.

May 7, 2026 | Monitoring Visit | Tara, Basa Tutoring Program (TBTP)

Dr. Maricar Joy C. Buluran, Dean of the College of Education, together with Ms. Romailyn V. Flores, TBTP Focal Person, conducted a monitoring visit in different elementary schools in Norzagaray to support our student tutors and Youth Development Workers (YWDs) under the DSWD’s Tara, Basa Tutoring Program.

This initiative highlights the impact of experiential learning and youth engagement in promoting literacy and community development—aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Promotion Board | 2nd Semester, AY 2025-2026

The College of Education successfully conducted its Promotion Board for the 2nd Semester, A.Y. 2025–2026 today, May 04, 2026, at the NC Faculty Room.

The activity aimed to deliberate the academic performance and grades of students, while ensuring proper monitoring, intervention, and support for learners, especially those with academic deficiencies. Through collaborative discussions and careful evaluation, the College continues to uphold its commitment to student welfare, academic excellence, and learner success.

The College of Education extends its sincere appreciation to all faculty members for their dedication, commitment, and invaluable service throughout the entire semester.

April 29, 2026 | Distribution of Financial Assistance for September 2026 Examinees for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT)| Atty. Amador Dela Merced Sports Complex

Financial assistance was awarded to 141 BEEd and BSEd graduating students currently enrolled in the in-house review program in preparation for the September 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).

Hon. Mayor Maria Elena Germar, Municipal Mayor and BOT Chair, was represented by her staff, Mr. Dondon Manuson, during the distribution. Present alongside him were College President Dr. Ma. Liberty DG. Pascual, Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Maricar Joy C. Buluran, and the faculty members of the College of Education.

The distribution of financial assistance underscores the LGU and institution’s unwavering commitment to empowering future educators by easing financial burdens and strengthening their readiness for the board examination. This initiative serves as both support and motivation for the graduating students as they take a significant step toward becoming licensed professional teachers.

Benchmarking Activity between Philippine Normal University and Norzagaray College 🤝👨🏻‍🏫👩🏻‍🏫

Today, April 23, 2026, Norzagaray College - College of Education successfully conducted a Benchmarking Activity with the Philippine Normal University via Zoom.

This meaningful engagement focused on key areas such as Micro credentialing in curriculum, Reframed Teacher Education Curriculum, and LEPT Review Programs and Institutional Preparations.

As a local college committed to continuous improvement, this initiative marks another step toward enhancing the quality of education we provide to our students and community.
