The ICONS and the College of Computing Studies (CCS) join the Norzagaray College community in celebrating its recognition in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026, where the institution ranked 66th under the B4 Category: Culture/Values.

WURI is an international ranking system that highlights institutions based on innovation, real-world contributions, and societal impact. It recognizes how colleges and universities respond to current challenges through practical and meaningful initiatives.

Out of 5,004 entries worldwide, the EDUKalEDAD program gained global recognition for promoting well-being, social engagement, and lifelong learning among older adults. The program reflects the college’s continued efforts to extend education beyond the classroom and into the community.

For ICONS and CCS, this milestone is a shared achievement. It reflects the collective work of students, faculty, and partners who contribute to building a culture of innovation and service.

As the institution gains recognition on the global stage, the College of Computing Studies and ICONS remains committed to supporting initiatives that create impact and strengthen the academic community.

ᴍᴀʏ 7, 2026 | ɴᴄ ᴇᴀʀɴꜱ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇ ɪɴ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ᴜɴɪᴠᴇʀꜱɪᴛʏ ʀᴀɴᴋɪɴɢꜱ ꜰᴏʀ ɪɴɴᴏᴠᴀᴛɪᴏɴ (ᴡᴜʀɪ) 2026

Among the 5,004 entries submitted by colleges and universities worldwide in the Culture/Values category, the EDUKalEDAD program of Norzagaray College ranked 66th in the prestigious World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026. The EDUKalEDAD program aims to promote well-being, social engagement, and continuous personal growth among older adults in the community.

WURI is an international ranking system that evaluates higher education institutions based on their real-world contributions, innovative research, and societal impact, rather than traditional academic metrics. It highlights how universities and colleges foster innovation and active engagement with society.

The inclusion in the international rankings places the institution among recognized higher education institutions worldwide that continue to make meaningful contributions to education and community engagement.

College officials, headed by Dr. Ma. Liberty DG. Pascual expressed gratitude to faculty members, students, alumni, and stakeholders whose dedication and hard work contributed to the achievement. According to the administration, the recognition serves not only as a symbol of excellence but also as an inspiration to strengthen further academic programs, research initiatives, and international partnerships.

“We owe gratitude to the support of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region III and our local government led by Hon. Mayor Maria Elena Germar. Norzagaray College may seem like just a small local community college, but with this milestone, we have proven that, through our passion, dedication, and collective effort, even a small community college can make an impact. This will continue to motivate us to provide accessible, relevant, and globally competitive education,” said Dr. Pascual.

Students also shared their pride and excitement about the recognition, emphasizing that the achievement boosts the institution’s reputation and opens up greater opportunities for learners and graduates.

Recognition in the world rankings is expected to further enhance the college’s credibility, attract future collaborations, and encourage continuous innovation in teaching and learning.

As Norzagaray College reaches another milestone, the institution remains steadfast in its mission to produce competent, socially responsible, and globally competitive graduates who will contribute meaningfully to society.

Another group of CCS student researchers, J𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗼 𝗔. 𝗟𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘇𝗮, 𝗝𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗕. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘇, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼 𝗢. 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀, 𝗡𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗣. Behind these student achievements is the steady guidance of their thesis adviser, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝘆 𝗦. 𝗟𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗼, whose mentorship, encouragement, and support helped shape the researchers’ work from concept to presentation. The CCS Department also extends its sincere gratitude to the Dean of the College of Computing Studies, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗢. 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝘇, for her continued guidance and commitment to fostering a culture of research excellence.

The 4th Year students of the College of Computing Studies have successfully defended their Thesis 2 during the schedule held on March 30, April 6–7, April 13, and April 15–16, 2026. 💻📚

Their dedication, collaboration, and perseverance highlight their commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of computing. 💪🔥

𝘼𝘿𝙑𝙄𝙎𝙊𝙍𝙔

𝗜𝗻 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟱, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the Office of Student Affairs of Norzagaray College has temporarily authorized the wearing of plain white shirts within campus premises, effective April 13, 2026, until further notice.

The measure aims to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of students amid extreme heat conditions.

Students are reminded to maintain proper decorum and adhere to dress code standards. White shirts with inappropriate, offensive, or non-academic prints remain strictly prohibited.

All concerned are advised to be guided accordingly and ensure compliance.

𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗘𝗫𝗛𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗖𝗖𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝘄𝗼-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲

Creativity, technical skill, and innovation took center stage during Game Exhibit 2026, held on March 31 and April 8, 2026, at Computer Laboratory B (CLB), where 3rd year students from the College of Computing Studies proudly presented their final projects in Game Design and Development.

The two-day exhibit served as a platform for students to showcase the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the course, featuring a variety of original game concepts and interactive digital projects. Under the guidance of their subject instructor, Mr. Richter Lapig, the event reflected the students’ hard work, imagination, and commitment to applying what they have learned in a creative and practical way.

Throughout the exhibit, visitors were given the opportunity to explore the students’ outputs and experience firsthand the results of their dedication and passion for game development. Each project demonstrated not only technical ability, but also originality, problem-solving, and an understanding of how classroom learning can be transformed into meaningful and engaging real-world applications.

More than just a presentation of final requirements, Game Exhibit 2026 became a celebration of student achievement and emerging talent in the field of technology and digital development. The event stood as a testament to the capability of CCS students to innovate, create, and inspire, while also highlighting the academic excellence and forward-thinking spirit of the institution.

Norzagaray College, through its Student Awards and Recognition Committee, officially opens the application period for the Leadership Award 2026, a recognition conferred upon a graduating student who has demonstrated exemplary leadership, active participation in institutional activities, and meaningful service to both the school and the community.

The award aims to honor student leaders who embody genuine and positive leadership rooted in service, responsibility, empowerment, and community engagement, while upholding the vision, mission, goals, and core values of the institution.

Qualified graduating students may submit their requirements from 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, ahead of the scheduled deliberation on April 23, 2026.
