24th Anniversary Celebration of DEAF, Inc 🎉

On March 22, 2026, we proudly celebrated the 24th Anniversary of DEAF, Inc. at Melrose Beach Resort.

With the inspiring theme “Leading Change Through Deaf Unity,” this special gathering brought together members of the Deaf community from different provinces across Negros Oriental. It was a day filled with connection, joy, and shared purpose and strengthening our unity and empowering one another to create positive change.

Through laughter, stories, and meaningful interactions, we were reminded that when we stand together, our voices become stronger and our impact greater.

Thank you to everyone who joined and made this celebration unforgettable. Together, we continue to lead, inspire, and uplift the Deaf community.

We conducted a seminar on Women’s Rights, Leadership, and Empowerment for Deaf students at DCNHS on March 19, 2026. This activity aimed to promote awareness, build confidence, and ensure equal opportunities for all women in our community.

With the support of our 2 Deaf volunteers, the seminar became more inspiring and meaningful for everyone involved.
Together, we continue to support inclusivity, education, and empowerment, creating a space where every voice matters.

Highlighting Deaf culture and Filipino Sign Language is essential to inclusive public service. The training in Negros Oriental shows how government can better meet the needs of the Deaf community.

READ: The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has trained members of the Provincial Council for Disability Affairs (PCDA) on Deaf culture and basic sign language for inclusive public service, especially for the Deaf community.

PSWDO’s Hillton John Edrial said the orientation aimed to help frontline agencies better understand the needs of deaf individuals, promote inclusivity, and respect their culture and rights.

“Because sa unang panahon, we have more trainings on blind, ortho cases, but siguro tagaan pod natog awareness ang mga katawhan ug unsa gyud diay kabahin ang deaf, unsa ilahang needs pod so that we can respond to them na fitting pod sa ilaha,” said Edrial.
