Ngayong buwan ay ipinagdiriwang natin ang Buwan ng Wika sa ilalim ng temang: “𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗜: 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸𝘀𝗶𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗬𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻.” Sa panahon kung saan isang tanong lamang ay maaaring magbukas ng libo-libong impormasyon, ang Wikang Filipino at Artificial Intelligence ay naitataguyod bilang makapangyarihang kasangkapan sa pananaliksik at pagkatuto. Ngunit kasabay ng mabilis na pag-unlad ng teknolohiya, tungkulin nating magtanong: para kanino ang pag-unlad at ano ang tunay na kapalit nito? Ang tunay na karunungan ay hindi lamang ang kakayahang kumalap ng datos, kundi ang tapang na suriin ang epekto nito sa ating bayan.

Kaya sa bawat pahinang binubuksan ng AI at makabagong teknolohiya, huwag nating kalimutang basahin ang kuwentong matagal nang isinusulat ng ating kalikasan. Sa gitna ng mga usaping kaugnay ng Pax Silica, maging mapanuri tayo sa mga proyektong maaaring kumonsumo ng tubig, enerhiya, at likas-yaman, sapagkat ang bawat patak, bawat dahon, at bawat lupang ating tinatapakan ay bahagi ng buhay na hindi maaaring palitan ng anumang makina. Ang teknolohiya ay dapat maging tulay tungo sa bukas, hindi landas na sumisira sa ating tahanan; dapat itong maging ilaw ng pagbabago, hindi apoy na tumutupok sa kalikasan. Gamitin natin ang Wikang Filipino upang magmulat, ang AI upang magsaliksik, at ang ating tinig upang manindigan—sapagkat walang saysay ang isang kinabukasang puno ng makabagong makina kung ang mundong kanilang pag-uusapan ay unti-unti namang nawawala.
