TO ALL DCBESIANS

❌ Sanitary napkins
❌ Maruruming tissue at papel na may mantika (gaya ng used paper cups and paper plate halimbawa lagayan ng siomai)
❌ Plastic bottle na may kulay
❌ Mga luma o sirang basahan
❌ Mga gamit na hindi na mapapakinabangan pa

Halimbawa ng Special hazardous waste sa paaralan
❌Mga expired o natirang laboratory chemicals
❌Cleaning chemicals (bleach, disinfectants na may matapang na kemikal)
❌Lumang baterya (AA, AAA, rechargeable)
❌Sirang electronics (calculator, computers, printers)
❌Fluorescent lamps (may mercury)
❌Cotton, gauze, at tissue na may dugo
❌Paints, solvents, at thinners
❌Pesticides o insecticides
❌Aerosol cans (spray paint, insect spray)

👉 Paalala:

As we all know, Artificial Intelligence or what we call 'AI' is widely used nowadays. It is known for making our lives easier and more convenient. It answers questions, generates paragraphs and essays, and can even do homework.

But, what you didn't know is that it contributes to water shortages.
But how? Why does it happen?
How can a simple prompt contribute to water shortages?

According to www.forbes.com
"Tech giants have significantly increased their water needs for cooling data centers due to the escalating demand for online services and generative AI products. AI server cooling consumes significant water, with data centers using cooling towers and air mechanisms to dissipate heat, causing up to 9 liters of water to evaporate per kWh of energy used."

Meaning, just like our phones—AI data centers also heat up, meaning, they need water to cool down. When using ChatGPT, it is estimated to consume 500 milliliters (about 16 ounces) of water for every 5 to 50 prompts or questions. So, in every question you ask, that's less water for us, contributing to water shortages around the globe.

So, before you use AI to generate a funny meme, to generate a picture, to generate answers to your schoolwork, think of the people who have limited access to clean water because of your use of AI softwares.

AI not only causes water shortages, it also makes us reliant on it. If we continue relying on AI to do our work for us simply because it's "more convenient and easier", through time, we may struggle to do our work on our own—we may struggle writing simple paragraphs because we relied on AI to much.

In conclusion, yes—AI can help us with our schoolworks, but the long-term effects of using AI are devastating. BE MINDFUL STOP THE USE OF AI.
