The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-Samboan successfully conducted a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Session in partnership with Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., which aimed at promoting mental well-being, emotional support, stress management, and psychosocial resilience among the participants.

The activity provided a safe and supportive space where participants could reflect, share experiences, and learn healthy ways of coping with stress and challenges. Through this initiative, we continue to recognize that mental health is an essential part of overall well-being and community resilience.

Together, let us build a healthier, stronger, and more resilient community—because mental health matters, and no one should face life's challenges alone.

SAMBOAN FIRE OLYMPICS 2026 🔥

The LOCAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT OFFICE -Samboan, proudly congratulates our volunteers (SAVER) for becoming a CHAMPION in SAMBOAN FIRE OLYMPICS 2026, which was conducted by Bureau of Fire Protection-Samboan Station.

It is a great honor and privilege for us to be part of this Fire Olympics. This event is more than just a competition. It is an opportunity to test and strengthen our skills, discipline, teamwork, physical endurance and readiness to respond during emergencies.

Let us always remember: Preparedness saves lives, teamwork strengthens response, and service is our greatest commitment.

🍃🌳NATIONAL DISASTER RESILIENCE MONTH 2026/
TREE PLANTING and TREE GROWING ACITIVITY 🌳🍃

The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-Samboan, together with the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management School Representatives,SB Members headed by VM Hon. Irving Gamallo, Punong Barangays, Barangay Tangbo Council, Barangay Bonbon Council, SAVER, TETWA, BETWA and partner agencies (BFP/PNP/PCG), LGU Dept. Heads, Tangbo Elementary School Faculty & parents, and most of all our very-owned Municipal Mayor Hon. Dr. Emerito D. Calderon Jr., proudly joined the Tree Planting and Tree Growing Activity in observance of National Disaster Resilience Month.

This initiative reflects our continuing commitment to disaster mitigation, environmental protection, and climate resilience. By planting trees today, we help reduce disaster risks, restore our natural environment, and build safer, greener, and more resilient communities for future generations.

❗️INCIDENT REPORT❗️

Type of Incident: Vehicular Accident⚠️
Date/Time: July 28,2026
Location: Barangay Cambigong, Samboan, Cebu

Today, at approximately 12:30 o’clock in the afternoon. The LDRRM Office-Samboan received a report of a vehicular incident at Brgy. Cambigong, Samboan, Cebu. In which, a mixer truck was loaded with cement heading to Brgy. Cañorong to deliver the load cement for road concreting from Tangbo, Samboan, Cebu of the same Municipality, upon reaching the ascending road on the place of incident, the truck was as unable to move forward due to its mechanical failure that cause on it's sudden reverse motion and loss control of the driver. The victim (truck helper) managed to jump while he was on the ladder near the passenger door tossing electric wires but he was struck by the mixer truck.

Upon arrival, responders found that there is one (1) fatality a male truck helper, lives in Argao, Cebu who works in a (private-owned) Construction Company.

The victim was immediately brought to RHU Samboan but he was declared dead on arrival (DOA) by the attending Physician.

The incident has been referred to the appropriate law enforcement authorities for further investigation.

DEAD GREEN SEA TURTLE 🐢

Today (July 21, 2026),a dead green sea turtle was discovered along the shoreline of Purok Escaltam, Poblacion, Samboan, Cebu @ 7o’clock in the morning.

The office of LOCAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT (LDRRM)-Samboan and BFAR-Samboan respresentative, proceeded to the area, conducted an assessment and documentation.

Initial Visual Inspection of Cause of Death:
Presence of wounds & entanglement marks

The dead green sea turtle was properly disposed in accordance with established environmental and wildlife conservation protocols to prevent possible health hazards and ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
