Proceeds will go to the Living Word Door of Hope Ministries, Inc.- Cebu MISSION/VISION to provide safe haven to the abused children within the church of Christ. History
God, in His sovereignty and grace, opened a ministry for those who were seeking for help in 1995. It was an answered prayer as God was healing me and showing me the devastation of Satan’s work in destroying a life through sexual a
buse. It was a good time as well since God was leading me to minister and counsel some of those who have been abused in many ways, not only sexually. It came about when a sister, who handled a Bible study at DSWD among the sexually abused children, was leaving for Manila. She was led to ask me to continue the work, which I joyfully accepted. Two other sisters in the Lord – Angeles and Vanette – came to help. Other brethren extended their help as well until such time that some of these children were released to us in a special manner, where they came to live with us. Many children have come and gone in our “half-way” house. Some stayed for many years, others for a short time. Some graduated from high school, others finished college, and some have not pursued anything. After five years of operation PURELY BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I mean without any sponsors of any sort, God led us to focus on the children through the Volleyball Sports Ministry that Bro. Mel initiated on that same year, 1995. The volleyball training turned into a Bible study among the children. Then it graduated into an adult Bible study. Eventually God made an outreach in that place, where the children were the primary focus. Seeing the need of these poor children, we began giving them once-a-week feeding. We helped some of those who were faithful in coming to the Sunday school to receive education. That was when “Adopt”-a-Child Project, a sponsorship schooling program, was born in 1999. To date, the Door of Hope Ministry has under it these ministries:
Inayagan, Naga Outreach and Children’s church
“Adopt-a-Child” Project – sponsors schooling for children whose families are committed to the Lord but have no financial means to educate their children
Hinunangan, Leyte Outreach and Children’s church
Pasil Children’s church
Camella Children’s church
