🚲 Bilang Siklista: Naga City Bike Count 2025

We rolled out early this morning from 6:00-8:00AM for the Bilang Siklista – Naga City Bike Count 2025 at key spots around the city. And we’re not done yet — we’ll be counting again this afternoon from 4:00-6:00PM. So ride through and be counted, because everybody counts!

This marks our 4th year of being part of Bilang Siklista, as we continue gathering crucial data to help shape Naga City into a safer, more bike-friendly place. Through this project, we aim to:

✅ Count how many bicycles are used in Naga this July 2025
✅ Identify popular routes and high bike traffic areas
✅ Understand cycling patterns,including helmet use, by time of day, gender, and location

A big THANK YOU to our tireless volunteers from BISCAST, NCF, and CBUSA, who make this possible through their dedication and energy.

‎The newly elected officers of the BISCAST Association of Civil Engineering Students launch their 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁—a walkability campaign—in partnership with 𝑨𝒏𝒏 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒋𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒐 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝑷𝑯 𝑴𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 and with support from a grant by the 𝑴𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑨𝒔 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. The campaign kicks off 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, with an orientation meeting, and will continue tomorrow with in-field works, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance community development. This organized initiative aims to make Naga City safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for pedestrians.

‎Titled “𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊 𝒏𝒂, 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒍𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒘 𝒔𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒕𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒂 𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑵𝒂𝒈𝒂,” the campaign focuses on enhancing pedestrian spaces such as sidewalks and crossings. It also promotes the health, environmental, and economic benefits of walking, advocates for pedestrian-friendly policies, and pushes for more people-centered urban design.

‎Through this initiative, organizers want to emphasize that 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲—𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘀. As such, city design must serve not only wheels but also feet, ensuring that pedestrian needs are prioritized.
