BUHI, CAMARINES SUR — Kabataang FPOP Camarines Sur Chapter conducted a Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) session themed “Fostering Intergenerational Dialogue on Health and Identity” on August 8, 2026, at the Barangay Session Hall of Sta. Elena, Buhi, Camarines Sur.

The activity brought together young people and barangay health workers to foster meaningful intergenerational dialogue and identify gaps and challenges in accessing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services in the community.

The program opened with remarks from John Rey C. Estiva, Vice Chairperson of Kabataang FPOP Camarines Sur, who welcomed the participants and provided an overview of the activity. The opening was followed by an energizer and interactive activities facilitated by Kabataang FPOP volunteers.

The first session featured a talk on HIV and teenage pregnancy led by Carmelo J. Arevalo, Kabataang FPOP Volunteer, HIV Peer Educator, and CBS Motivator. The discussion covered common myths and facts about HIV, its modes of transmission, prevention strategies, and the causes and prevention of teenage pregnancy. Participants were also given practical guidance on proper condom use as part of the session on HIV and pregnancy prevention.

Following the discussion, participants took part in a Slogan Advocacy Campaign, where young people and adult barangay health workers worked together to identify SRHR concerns and develop contextualized, youth-centered solutions. The activity encouraged participants to share their perspectives and strengthen collaboration between generations in addressing community health concerns.

The sessions concluded with closing remarks from Carmelo Arevalo, who emphasized the importance of long-term commitment and shared responsibility in advancing SRHR advocacy and ensuring that young people have access to accurate information and appropriate health services.

Kabataang FPOP Camarines Sur extends its gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Sta. Elena, Buhi, and its Sangguniang Kabataan, as well as Mx. Jinky S. Lisanque, RM and BSM, FPOP CamSur Chapter Program Field Coordinator, for accompanying the youth and for their support and guidance throughout the activity.

Through initiatives such as this, Kabataang FPOP Camarines Sur continues to promote informed, inclusive, and youth-centered conversations on sexuality, health, identity, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

MANILA, Philippines — Delegates from the Kabataang FPOP Camarines Sur Chapter participated in the National Youth Leaders Assembly (NYLA) 2026, organized by the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), held at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel from July 30 to August 2, 2026.

Representing the chapter were Vice Chairperson John Rey C. Estiva and Membership Committee Officer Robert Ramos, who joined fellow youth leaders and representatives from different FPOP chapters across the country in the four-day national assembly.

The NYLA 2026 served as an avenue for youth leaders to deepen their understanding of the mission and vision of Kabataang FPOP, while strengthening their knowledge and skills in organizational development, leadership, and youth participation.

For the Camarines Sur delegates, the assembly also provided an opportunity to benchmark the chapter's existing practices against the initiatives and approaches of other chapters and the national organization. The exchange of experiences and organizational practices allowed the delegates to identify strategies that may be adapted to further strengthen the chapter's programs, systems, and operations.

Following the assembly, the chapter conducted a special meeting to discuss key learnings, recommendations, and practices gathered during NYLA 2026. Chapter officers eyes to identify relevant practices that may be adopted and institutionalized to improve organizational systems, strengthen youth engagement, and enhance the delivery of programs and initiatives in Camarines Sur.

The participation of Kabataang FPOP Camarines Sur in NYLA 2026 underscores the chapter's commitment to continuous organizational learning, collaboration, and youth-led development, while contributing to a stronger and more responsive Kabataang FPOP movement at both the local and national levels.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

‎On July 6, 2026, the Kabataang FPOP CamSur Chapter successfully conducted a Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) session with the theme, "Fostering Intergenerational Dialogue on Health and Identity," in partnership with Padayon-Bicol and in special partnership with Ocampo National High School.

‎The activity included two interactive sessions:
‎📌 Session 1: Participatory Intergenerational Discussion
‎📌 Session 2: Advocacy Slogan Development

‎The event created a safe and welcoming space where participants openly shared ideas, learned from one another, and explored important topics about health, identity, and respect. Through meaningful conversations and creative advocacy, our young people were encouraged to become confident, informed, and responsible advocates for positive change in their communities.

The 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔, 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒓 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 participate in the Free HIV Awareness Seminar and HIV Testing as part of Pride Month celebration, in partnership with Sua Ignited Association (SIA) last June 27, 2026 at Camaligan People’s Plaza.

The purpose of this event is to gather money for SIA’s Christmas Project 2026, which will benefit the PWD children of Camaligan. SIA is pleased to present SLAYed, a benefit drag show for children with disabilities, in honor of Pride Month and the spirit of freedom on this Philippines Independence Day. This activity aims to promote awareness, provide accurate information about HIV, also to encourage the individuals to know their status in a safe and supportive environment.

We hope that this activity will unite the community in support of a worthwhile cause and serve as a reminder that the greatest way to celebrate freedom is to encourage and support one another.

This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to empowering the youth through education, meaningful dialogue, and collective action toward a healthier and stigma-free community.

💙🌸✨ LOCAL YOUTH LEADERS ASSEMBLY (LYLA) 2026 | PART 1 ✨🌸💙

Kabataang FPOP CamSur successfully held the Local Youth Leaders Assembly (LYLA) 2026, bringing together both longtime youth volunteers and new members, alongside FPOP staff, for a day of learning, leadership, and meaningful engagement.

Participants joined interactive sessions on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), strengthening their knowledge, leadership skills, and commitment to empowering fellow young people in their communities.

A special thank you to Angelo Magalona Espenocilla, former Youth Treasurer of Kabataang FPOP CamSur, for sharing his leadership journey, experiences, and valuable insights that inspired participants to become proactive, responsible, and service-oriented youth leaders.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Binibining L Delos Angeles for facilitating the session, “Engaging Young People towards Youth-Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction.” Through his expertise and inspiring discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of the important role of young people in disaster preparedness, resilience-building, and community action. Heis session encouraged the youth to become active partners in creating safer, more inclusive, and disaster-resilient communities.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all FPOP staff, facilitators, and volunteers whose dedication and support made this activity possible. Congratulations as well to the newly elected officers of Kabataang FPOP CamSur! May you continue to lead with passion, purpose, and a genuine commitment to serving the youth of Camarines Sur.
