The University of Nueva Caceres, through its Human Rights Center for Education, Office of Students and Alumni Affairs, and the Political Science Program, in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights Region V, led the celebration of International Youth Day at the UNC Covered Court, August 12, 2026.

Youth Fest 2026: โ€œTinig at Galaw ng Kabataanโ€ was filled with fun activities that also served as an avenue for students in expressing their opinions and stance on human rights, promoting active involvement in youth development, and to secure those rights.

Present in the event are the students from various programs of the University and the Dean of Students and Alumni Affairs, Dean Kenjie E. Jimenea. Commission on Human Rights Region V Regional Director Atty. Arlene Q. Alangco, and Hon. Beda A. Epres, Focal Commissioner for Youth Hon. Beda A. Epres shared inspiring discussions and message that encourage youth to advocate for positive change.

WHEREAS, Article IX, Section 2 of the APSS Constitution states โ€œThe Commission shall be composed of two members from each year level, who shall be appointed by the President. The Legislative Council shall confirm the appointment of COMELEC membersโ€.

WHEREAS, an appointment has been made by the President to complete the set of COMELEC members, following the appointment of the APSS President, Precious Anne Marie Cuebillas, last July 30, 2026.

WHEREAS, there is a need for confirmation by the APSS Legislative Council concerning the appointment of the COMELEC members by the President.

As part of our commitment to transparency and leadership, we share with you the Attendance Report for the meetings conducted by the organization. Eight of our Executive Officers, 1 Legislative Officer and Two Committee Heads have mainatined perfect attendance so far.

Meanwhile, some executive and legislative officers, including a few committee heads, incurred more than 2 absences

Since May 2026, the organization already conducted Four(4) Official Meetings for both Executive and Legislative Council, while Three (3) meetings were conducted for Committee heads.

APSS members attended the Taxation Law talk last July 25, 2026 at UNC Social Hall. The Dean of UNC School of Law Atty. Antonio C. Rivero delivered his opening remarks, welcoming the guests and students to the event.

The talk was led by the Guest Speaker Atty. Raquel R. Dujunco, CPA. In her lecture, she highlighted key aspects in taxation law in the upcoming 2026 Bar examination, a huge boost for this year's bar examinees.
