John F. Kennedyโs words continue to ring true decades later. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future. Yet, this requires more than recognizing their potential. It calls for meaningful support, stronger child protection, and a justice system that makes room for rehabilitation, restoration, and change.
No child should be defined solely by their past when they have the capacity to learn, take responsibility, and become something more. With the right guidance, support, and opportunities, change is possible.
This belief lies at the heart of the RAISE Initiative (Restorative Art Interventions for Support and Empowerment), which began its art workshops on October 17 and 18, 2026, at Naga City Childrenโs Home in Carolina, Naga City.
Through guided drawing exercises, collaborative artwork, and personal reflection, the children explored new ways to express themselves, work with others, and approach unfamiliar challenges. They also began learning the fundamentals of shapes, color, shading, and drawing techniques.
Beyond art, these first two days offered opportunities to practice patience, embrace learning, and discover new ways of seeing the world. Each activity affirmed a simple but important principle: growth takes time, and every child deserves the chance to experience it.
Through RAISE, we continue to champion a more compassionate approach to juvenile justice, one that recognizes not only the need for accountability but also every child's capacity for growth, rehabilitation, and reintegration.
