A classroom must be filled with children. Just as their small hands carry books and knowledge, today is a reminder that they must not be burdened by labor heavier than them.
Every June 12, we do not only celebrate our independence, but also remember the significance of protecting children against child labor. With the theme โRed card to child labour: Fair play for children, decent work for adults,โ the 2026 World Day Against Child Labor campaigns for combating this issue through investing in education, strengthening social protection, creating decent opportunities for adults, and enforcing child protection laws.
More than just a day of celebration and remembering, this day brings together efforts from the government, organizations, and individuals to unite and lessen the children who are in the streets rather than the classrooms.
Together with the Naga City Scholars Guild, we invite the to take part in this advocacy. Happy World Day Against Child Labor!
