PAGLADOP: A Deepening Session with Youth Partners ๐๐ฑ
PAGLADOP is a 3-day training-workshop that brings together youth organizations to move beyond surface-level climate conversations and truly dive deeper into climate justice work. Rooted in the Bicolano concept of โpagladopโ (to dive), the process reflects how advocacy is not linear. It is a continuous cycle of act, reflect, and act.
Just like diving, young leaders are encouraged to go deep into issues and community realities, rise above the surface to pause and reflect, and then dive again; stronger, more grounded, and more intentional in their actions.
Throughout the program, youth partners engaged in discussions and workshops that led to the development of learning modules anchored on mental health, gender justice, participatory governance, environmental justice, and education, emphasizing their intersection with climate justice. Central to this process was the co-creation and co-designing of learning modules, ensuring that these sessions are grounded in lived experiences and responsive to community needs.
The training also fostered the examination of cross-sectoral effects of climate changeโunpacking how it shapes and disrupts governance & youth participation, mental health, gender, and education. These conversations reinforced that climate change is not just an environmental issue, but a broader social and justice concern that cuts across sectors.
More than just a training, PAGLADOP is a space for continuous growthโwhere youth leaders learn to dive deeper, rise to reflect, and act again for a more just and climate-resilient future.
