Parts of the Bagumbayan campus are already flooded, and more rain is expected until tomorrow. To ensure the safety of all, onsite office work is suspended and WFH arrangements are recommended for Monday, September 2. Those who are able can still visit the campus to help secure their offices.

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 16th year of our blood donation program, Dugong Atenista. This noble endeavor, organized by Ateneo de Naga University thru the Office of Student Affairs, aims to gather blood donations from individuals like you who are willing to make a difference in the lives of others.

The blood donation drive will take place on November 29 (Wednesday) and 30 (Thursday), 2023, at Xavier Hall, Bagumbayan Campus. We encourage all students, employees, and alumni to come forward and contribute to this life-saving cause.

Each blood donation has the potential to save up to three lives. By donating blood, you can provide a lifeline to individuals in need, including accident victims, patients undergoing surgeries, and those with chronic illnesses.

We urge you to mark your calendars, and be a part of Dugong Atenista. Your contribution can make a significant impact on someone's life and bring hope to those in need. Remember, together we can save lives and make a difference.

Thursday, 21 September 2023 marks the 51st anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law. Our Ateneo de Naga University Supreme Student Government (AdNU-SSG) has encouraged all college students to wear black to remember this day of infamy. It will be a powerful display of remembrance for the victims of the Martial Law regime, and for those who continue to suffer its grievous effects.

I laud our AdNU-SSG officers for this initiative. I would like to encourage all our University administrators, faculty, and staff to stand in solidarity with our students, and to wear black on September 21.

Let us also continue to pray for our nation, as we recall yet again the theme of our recently concluded Peñafrancia festival: “Journeying with Ina in Deepening Our Relationship with God in these Challenging Times.”

May this simple gesture remind us that the work of nation building and defending democracy continues, as our common duty and responsibility.

Lest we forget. Ad majorem Dei gloriam.

The James O’Brien S.J. Library, College of Business and Accountancy, Graduate School, and the AdeN High School Class ’66 will conduct a lecture in commemoration of the legacy of Fr. James O’Brien, S.J. on September 20, 2023, at 9:00 am at the Richie Fernando Hall.

The theme for this year’s lecture is The Bicol Rural Economy: The Challenges of Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, and Social Development. The talk will focus on the Bicol region’s rural economy since Bicol is heavily dependent on agriculture, characterized by low incomes, limited access to resources, and a lack of infrastructure. Also, to examine several challenges for the rural economy, including the need for promoting agricultural productivity, entrepreneurship, and social development. The target audience of this lecture is students, faculty & staff, librarians, and other interested participants in the Bicol Region.

In this light, students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the lecture. Complimentary snacks will be served after the activity for onsite participants. This activity will also be live-streamed through the ADNU page account.
