The Rotary Club of Metro Naga, in its continuing commitment to serve communities in need, recently conducted a meaningful outreach project in Brgy. San Ramon, Siruma, Camarines Sur. With the aim of promoting health and wellness, the club distributed maintenance medicines to residents who rely on daily medication for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses.

Access to maintenance medicines is a pressing concern in many far-flung municipalities like Siruma, where resources and healthcare services are often limited. Understanding this need, the Rotary Club of Metro Naga stepped in to bridge the gap by providing essential support to individuals and families who struggle to secure regular medical supplies.

The project not only alleviates the financial burden of patients but also empowers them to continue their treatment consistently, thereby improving their quality of life. This initiative reflects Rotary’s enduring mission of “Service Above Self,” bringing compassion and practical assistance directly to those who need it most.

Through the dedication of its members and the spirit of volunteerism, the Rotary Club of Metro Naga continues to be a beacon of hope, proving that small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact in the lives of many.

In line with its advocacy on disease prevention and health promotion, the Rotary Club of Metro Naga is conducting a comprehensive campus-wide fogging and spraying operation today, June 28, 2025, at Naga City Science High School. This initiative marks the kickoff project of the club for the new Rotary Year, highlighting its strong commitment to community service and public health protection.

This special activity was made possible through the request of students Miguel and Xian Villegas, who expressed concern for the safety and well-being of their fellow schoolmates. Their initiative reflects the kind of youth leadership and civic responsibility that Rotary strives to inspire and support.

With the rainy season now increasing the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses like dengue fever, the fogging operation aims to eliminate potential breeding areas and ensure a clean, safe environment for the entire school community. The coverage includes classrooms, laboratories, hallways, outdoor spaces, and known mosquito-prone areas within the campus. The activity is conducted in coordination with the school administration and follows established health and safety protocols.

“We are proud to begin our Rotary Year with a project that directly benefits the youth and promotes public health,” said Wilfren Bryan Papaya, President of the Rotary Club of Metro Naga. “The initiative of Miguel and Xian Villegas shows how young people can be powerful catalysts for community action. This is what Rotary stands for—collaboration, compassion, and commitment to service.”

The Rotary Club of Metro Naga continues to urge the public to take preventive steps against dengue by eliminating stagnant water, maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings, and staying informed about public health threats.

This fogging operation sets the tone for a year of purposeful service, as the club moves forward with its mission anchored in the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self.”

The Rotary Club of Metro Naga celebrated another significant milestone on June 25, 2025, as members gathered for an evening filled with camaraderie and a renewed commitment to Rotary’s core values. This was not just any regular meeting, it was made even more special by the induction of 3 new members into our growing Rotary family.

From the moment Rotarians arrived, the energy in the room was palpable. Smiles, warm handshakes and shared stories filled the air as everyone reconnected, reminding us that fellowship lies at the heart of everything we do.

Before the highlight of the evening, several key club matters were discussed, including ongoing service projects, community engagement activities, and the upcoming July 5 district event. Reports from various committee chairs reflected the club’s continued commitment to meaningful service, from health to education initiatives.

Each new member shared a few words of gratitude, affirming their commitment to serve and participate actively in Rotary’s programs. Their personal reflections were filled with sincerity and promise, a reminder of why we continue to grow and welcome individuals who share our purpose.

The evening also featured a short inspirational message from Pres. Wilfren Bryan Papaya, who encouraged the new members to embrace the Rotary journey fully. He reminded everyone that “Rotary is not just a club you join; it’s a way of life rooted in service, friendship, and making an impact where it matters most.”

As the formal part of the program concluded, members enjoyed a hearty dinner and fellowship, complete with music, laughter, and the usual Rotary energy that binds us all. Picture-taking followed, capturing the joy and pride of this meaningful occasion.

The Rotary Club of Metro Naga stands tall and proud as we welcome Jackson Lo, a businessman, Arch. Niño Soriano, and Arch. Ber Kalvin Albao into our circle. Together, we look forward to journeying with them in creating sustainable change, building stronger communities, and deepening our bonds of friendship.

Another meaningful evening of fellowship, purpose, and progress as members of the Rotary Club of Metro Naga gathered for our weekly meeting. These regular assemblies are more than just routine, they are where ideas are born, plans are refined, and collective action takes shape for the betterment of our community.

The meeting opened with our usual traditions: the Rotary Invocation, the recitation of the Four Way Test, and a moment to recognize milestones among our members. Club President Elect Bryan Papaya shared timely updates from Rotary District 3820, along with key developments on our ongoing projects in health, education, and community development. The floor also welcomed reports from various committee chairs, each one a testament to how service becomes reality through teamwork and accountability.

More than just updates, these meetings serve as a consistent reminder of Rotary’s calling to put Service Above Self, and how each Rotarian’s commitment, big or small, ripples outward to make a difference.

Thank you to all members who joined tonight’s meeting. We look forward to turning more plans into action as we continue to serve Naga City and beyond.
