A Brief Look at Rotaract:
Rotary International, a worldwide association of service-minded Business and Professional leaders, founded Rotaract in 1968. Today (as of 1 July 2012), there are over 7,664 Rotaract clubs with approx. 1,76,289 (est.) members in 465 Rotary Districts with 8,658 sponsor Rotary clubs, spread over 159 Countries around the world. Clubs are either community based, or they are an extracurricular activity on college/university campuses. Rotaract at the Club, District and International Levels :-
Most Rotaract activities take place at the club level. Rotaract clubs hold formal meetings, usually every two weeks, which feature speakers, special outings, social activities, discussions or visits to other clubs. Club members also get together for service projects, social events or professional. Leadership development workshops. Every Rotaract club is a part of a District Rotaract Organization, run by elected representatives with support from sponsoring Rotarians. The District Rotaract Organization plans regional Conferences, develops regional projects, and holds leadership training programs and work to strengthen the bond among clubs in the district. Rotaract functions at the International Level through a committee comprised of Rotaractors and Rotarians. This committee works with Rotary International Convention. This event offers Rotaractors from all over the world the chance to meet, discuss on mutual interest and develop friendship based on International goodwill and understanding.
