Seatizen Scientists of Dyesabel Philippines, Inc. presented their research, policies, and stories on Kadaiyahan Data Presentation.

The materials were born from the consultation and data collection phase of the program, which guided and challenged them to use granular data to co-create marine conservation materials related to the sea, science, service, and stories for society.

Today, Chapter President Vladimir Alexi Miรฑoza served as the Resource Speaker, together with Ms. Jezzel L. Alvior, Dyesabel National Internal Deputy Director, as they shared valuable insights on the role of youth in environmental protection and conservation.

The session included discussions on the role of the youth in protecting the environment, environmental issues and disasters that may affect the youth, as well as youth empowerment and engagement. Interactive games were also conducted to instill environmental awareness and lessons among the children.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Brgy. Captain Lupi Xenxer C. Bagaslao of BLGU Sta. Maria for inviting Dyesabel Philippines โ€“ Nabunturan Chapter as the resource speaker for the 2nd Session of Kalikasan Iskwela.

In celebration of Earth Day, Dyesabel Philippines โ€“ Nabunturan Chapter joined the Clean-Up Drive, Tree Planting, and Tree Nurturing Activity organized by BLGU Sta. Maria.

Our heartfelt thanks to BLGU and SK of Sta. Maria, for leading this meaningful initiative and giving us the opportunity to be part of it. Together, we continue to take steps toward a cleaner and greener community.

๐ŸŒฟ Leaving a Greener Footprint: SK Tree Nurturing & Cleanup Drive ๐Ÿงน

Change starts at the grassrootsโ€”literally! The Sangguniang Kabataan successfully conducted a Tree Nurturing and Pulot Basura activity at Purok 14, Poblacion, proving that when the youth lead, the community follows.

Spearheaded by Hon. Loren Castaรฑo, the initiative saw a powerful collaboration between the Katipunan ng Kabataan of Purok 14, headed by Ms. Vanessa Autentico, Dyesebel Philippines-Nabunturan, led by Mr. Vladimir Miรฑoza, Purok 14 chairperson Mr. Paulo Laurente, BeshPro Scholars and SK council.

๐Ÿ” The Reality on the Ground
Our team worked through the streets of the Purok 14 highway and the NAFAMCO compound, but the findings were a wake-up call:

โ€ข Waste Management: We collected 5 sacks of assorted waste. Most were residual items left on the roadside by travelers stopping for a rest.
โ€ข Environmental Loss: During the nurturing phase, several trees from Project Greenbelt were found dead or uprooted, victims of recent developments in the area.

๐Ÿ“ข Our Call to Action
A clean street is a shared responsibility. We urge the public to remember that our roads are public spaces meant to be used safely and enjoyed by everyoneโ€”please, do not litter.

To our land owners, both public and private: we encourage you to plant native trees on your spare land. Not only do they preserve our biodiversity, but they are our best defense against the sweltering summer heat.

โš–๏ธ Moving Beyond Volunteerism
While we are proud of these initiatives, cleanups and planting activities are not enough. We need stronger legislation on sustainable development. It is disheartening to see grown native trees cut down to make way for infrastructure without a long-term environmental plan. We call for policies that protect our existing greenery and ensure that progress does not come at the cost of our planet.
