Every recommendation in the field begins with research.

Day 3 of the 58th PMCP Anniversary and Annual Scientific Conference focused on the science behind crop protection through concurrent scientific sessions led by the Philippine Association of Entomologists (PAE), the Philippine Phytopathological Society (PPS), and the W**d Science Society of the Philippines (WSSP).

Researchers presented studies on insect pests, plant diseases, w**d management, biological control, and emerging technologies.

More than sharing results, the sessions encouraged discussion, challenged ideas, and strengthened collaboration among scientists working toward the same goal—helping farmers manage pests more effectively and sustainably.

CropLife Philippines values opportunities like these, where research, innovation, and collaboration come together to support science-based decisions in agriculture.

The conversations happening today will help shape the tools, technologies, and practices that farmers rely on in the years ahead.

Science, innovation, and collaboration took center stage on Day 2 of the 58th PMCP Anniversary and Annual Scientific Conference.

Today’s plenary sessions brought together government leaders, researchers, industry experts, and farmer representatives to discuss the future of crop protection in the Philippines.

Among the speakers were DA-FPA Executive Director Glenn Dc. Estrada, PhilMaize Treasurer Susan Lao, UPLB Graduate School Dean Dr. Jomar F. Rabajante, Leads Environmental Health Products Director for Business Innovation & Growth Ann Margaret Lico Castilan, DOST-NCBP Assistant Scientist Ms. Maria Lorelie Agbagala, and PhilRice Senior Science Research Specialist Sci. Dindo King M. Donayre.

The discussions covered emerging priorities in agriculture, including artificial intelligence and data in pest management, precision herbicide application using drones, biosafety policies for emerging technologies, responsible regulation, and farmer-led experiences in pest management.

These conversations reflect a common goal shared by the agriculture community: ensuring that innovation reaches farmers through science-based, practical, and responsible approaches.

CropLife Philippines is proud to join partners from government, academia, industry, and the farming sector in supporting dialogue that advances product stewardship, encourages innovation, and helps build a more resilient Philippine agriculture.

CropLife Philippines joined the opening day of the 58th PMCP Anniversary and Annual Scientific Conference, which began with the Farmers’ Forum and Pest Clinic 2026 in Sultan Kudarat.

Farmers heard practical discussions on w**d, insect, and disease management, followed by an open forum where they could raise concerns based on actual field conditions.

CropLife also took part in the discussion on product stewardship—an important reminder that crop protection works best when products are used correctly, responsibly, and according to the label.

Thank you to PMCP, RCPC XII, the speakers, partners, and farmers who made Day 1 a useful exchange of knowledge and experience.
