When I think of my Papa, I think of strength, faithfulness, and quiet love. He has always been our rock. He worked hard to provide for our family and made sure we had what we needed. When we were young, he played with us, laughed with us, and gave us memories that we still treasure today.
What I admire most is not just what he did for us, but who he chose to be through life's joys and sorrows. Even after Mama passed away, he continued to love her memory with the same devotion and respect. Through difficult seasons, he remained steady for his daughters, carrying burdens that we often did not see.
Whenever we were hurting, Papa seemed to know the right words to say. He listened, encouraged, and reminded us to keep going. Looking back, I realize that the strength we saw in him did not come from himself alone. It came from the Lord whom he trusted and served.
The Bible says,
My father was never meant to be my foundation forever. Like all earthly fathers, he is human and imperfect. But through his love, sacrifices, and faith, he taught us where true strength is found. He pointed us to Christ, our eternal Cornerstone, the One who remains when everything else changes.
This Father's Day, I thank God not only for giving me a good father, but for giving me a father who helped me know the One who will never fail me.
Perhaps the greatest legacy a father can leave is not that his children depend on him forever, but that he leads them to depend on Christ.
