As we all know, our beloved jeepney drivers are the unsung heroes of our daily commute, providing an essential service that keeps our community moving. However, they are now facing an unprecedented challenge – the looming jeepney phaseout. Many of our hardworking drivers, who have devoted their lives to transporting us safely, are at risk of losing their livelihoods.

In light of this, the Rotaract Club of Muntinlupa North is launching a Donation Drive to support our jeepney drivers during this difficult time. The purpose of this drive is to alleviate the financial burden they will face as they navigate through the challenges. 😗

While the sample size of 1,200 respondents may seem limited, it's important to recognize that these surveys play a valuable role in capturing public opinion. Magandang Araw, mga Shakers!

Marami sa ating mga mahal sa buhay ang lubusang naapektuhan ng pandemya. Napakaraming buhay ang nawala, ngunit ang pagdamay sa kapwa ang siyang mananaig sa panahon ng kahirapan.

Si Carlo Bascuña, ang isa sa pinakamasisipag na Creatives ng Earth Shaker. Ang kanyang mga gawa ay lubusang kahanga-hanga na siyang nararapat na bigyang pagtangi.

Noong nakaraang ika-5 ng Nobyembre, ang Lola ni Carlo ay na-confine sa ospital. Ngunit sa di inaasahang pangyayari, ang kanyang lola ay namayapa kahapon, ika-8 ng Nobyembre nang dahil sa Myocardial Infarction o Heart Attack.

Ang Earth Shaker ay magsasagawa ng Donation Drive para sa pamilya ni Carlo Bascuña upang makatulong sa kanilang mga gastusin. Kami ay lubusang humihingi ng suporta at tulong mula sa inyo, aming mga Shakers.

| Did you know that there are 3 body types?

These are ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. Ectomorph is characterized as thin and difficult to gain body fat/muscle. Mesomorph on the other hand, is characterized as the middle of the group. People with this body type tend to have broader shoulders and narrow waist. It is easy to loose or gain weight in this body type. Lastly, Endomorph is a body type that gains weight easier but harder to loose it.

Knowing your body type helps you to build work out regimen that is efficient for you. Also, don't self-diagnose about your body type and seek for experts in order to loose/gain weight efficiently and healthy.

The local government of Muntinlupa looks at the situation of the all the workers that are greatly affected by the global pandemic. They issue a partnership with Grab Philippines to provide 500 city residents a chance to Deliver, and Recover.

| Flamingos are not born pink?

Yes, Flamingos originally are born with dull gray feathers. The reason why their feathers turn into pink is because of beta carotene, a red-orange pigment that they get from algae, larvae, and brine shrimps that they eat. The food is digested by their body and break down the chemicals and the pink pigments were absorbed by the fats in liver. Then, it is transported into the skin and the feathers. It is also worth noting that in order for them to change their color into this state, they must consume a large amount of beta-carotene-filled foods.

| “The Unlucky Day”

The negative association with Friday specifically has a combination of religious and cultural origins. Some Christians believe Friday to be unlucky because it was the day of the week that Jesus was crucified. The real Friday the 13th hysteria started in the 20th century. Many date this back to Thomas Lawson's book "Friday, the Thirteenth" which is about a stockbroker who chooses this day to deliberately crash the stock market. One year later in 1908, The New York Times became one of the first media outlets to acknowledge the superstitions of Friday the 13th. Later in the 1980s, the popularity of the "Friday the 13th" movie franchise added to the cultural phenomenon.

| The eyewall, not the eye, is the most dangerous part of a typhoon

The strongest winds and heaviest rains are found in the eye wall, making it the most dangerous part of the storm. It is made up of deep convective thunderstorms, which form a complete ring around the eye. Contraction or expansion of the eye wall can cause changes in wind speed and storm strength. In contrary, the eye is the center of the storm. It is the most calm place in a hurricane since conditions are clear with light winds usually less than 15 mph.
